Description

Smoke'em Poker is a single player, freeware game based on five card draw poker. It is played entirely with the mouse. The game is between six players with the computer playing five hands, each hand of five-card draw proceeds as follows:
  • ante and dealing
  • opening bets (no minimum hand to open)
  • discarding cards (1 discard of up to 3 cards)
  • closing bets
  • the showdown (where you win, lose, or tie)
If a computer player runs out of money they are eliminated, if the player runs out of money they can either abandon the game or sit back and watch to see which AI player wins. The game can be customised, the AI players can be given a skill level, specific name and gender or the game can assign these randomly. The game rules can be also be customised as can the alter the initial cash amount and the betting limits.

Earlier versions of this game had been available on the Amiga but v1.5 is the earliest Windows game.

Though the game is classified as freeware it is technically 'BeerWare' which, as the author puts it, means - if you like it, have a beer!
