Ocean have hit upon the ideal interpretation of the Addams Family. The best seen on any console.
Boy, Fester is really kickin' up dust in AFV! There are many similarities between it and Zelda, but it just couldn't do it. Other than that, AFV gives the gamer the next best thing to it...you betcha! Tuneful music, lavish bosses and a fluid storyline to keep you tunes in with the action.
The Addams Family Values is een magnifieke RPG.
I found myself enjoying AFV more the deeper I got into it. The simplified gameplay and variety of locations and characters make for a compelling game. A cracking little adventure
Although the game's giant overworld and the slightly irritating password system might be a bit overwhelming for some at first, those willing to invest some time to work around Addams Family Values's issues will find a surprisingly solid title that will grant you plenty of hours of challenge and entertainment.
Addams Family Values was a forgotten gem among the 800 or so games on the SNES. During my first few years of my video game playing, I spent a lot of my time playing this game. It is an action game that has a mix of puzzle, strategy, and adventure mixed in with it. If you come across this game I advise you get it because though it may cause some frustration, it is still a fun game.
Family Values looks terrific but its lack of structure will drive you nuts. You'll find yourself hiking all over God's creation wondering where the hell you're supposed to go to! Making matters worse, the lush foliage tends to block your path, or worse yet - obstruct your vision. It's not uncommon to incur damage from spikes or enemies totally hidden from sight! After using one of your unlimited continues, you're tossed back in the fray with a single ounce of life left! That's frustrating - especially when you subsequently keel over after being touched by a moving bush (that's right - a freakin' bush). Even the FAQ I was using was very forthcoming about the game's glaring flaws. Addams Family Values is more frustrating than fun, so I only recommend this to the most ardent adventure seekers.
Addams Family Values truly is a dreadful game. It tries to emulate LttP, but fails miserably on all counts. You often have no idea where you're supposed to go and wandering around isn't remotely fun because of the shoddy game mechanics. Maybe the humorous dialogue and effective atmosphere are enough to save this game from being completely pathetic....but not by much.
