All Game Guide
The game is too darned short. If you were allocated five or six continues at the beginning of each round of play, you'd beat the game in no time at all. But instead, you have to repeat earlier levels every time you run out of lives. This can get frustrating and kind of dull. Because of the fine swordsmanship, playing the early levels over and over is not entirely without entertainment, but you'll find yourself wishing for a longer game with more continues.

Well kids, it's yet another movie adaptation from Acclaim and (did you expect anything less) it's not the greatest game ever to be committed to chip, but it's not so bad either. In fact, it's kind of like a good cheese sandwich: fulfilling, but not gourmet.

If buccaneering action's your bag, you might be able to stand this simple, dull game. If not...abandon ship!

With graphics reminiscent of the 8-bit days, mindless enemies and bland environments, Cutthroat Island is just plain terrible. I certainly hope the movie is better!
