    Game Overview

In the sequel to the immensely popular Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong gets the spotlight, along with his girlfriend, Dixie Kong--a great little monkey with a dangerous ponytail. The action starts on the wreck of King K. Rool's Gangplank Galleon that has apparently broken up on a reef offshore from the Kremlings’ island. Diddy and his friends will have to work together to rescue Donkey Kong, exploring all the hidden areas of the Kremlings’ island: a spooky haunted forest, treacherous swamps, a giant beehive oozing with sticky honey, and lava-filled caves--just to name a few.

In the sequel to the immensely popular Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong gets the spotlight, along with his girlfriend, Dixie Kong: a heroic little monkey with a dangerous ponytail. The action starts on the shipwreck of the King K. Rool's Gangplank Galleon which has apparently broken up on a reef near the Kremlings' island. Diddy and his friends will have to work together to rescue Donkey Kong, exploring all the hidden areas of the Kremling's island: a spooky haunted forest, treacherous swamps, a giant bee hive oozing with sticky honey and lava-filled caves (just to name a few).

You'll meet Kong family members Wrinkly Kong and Swanky Kong in this sequel. Also, you'll be introduced to four new animal friends: Rattly the rattlesnake, Squitter the Spider, Clapper the seal and Glimmer the angler fish. You'll also get assistance from some of the animal friends from the original Donkey Kong Country, including Rambi the rhino and Enguarde the swordfish. Of course, you'll also face a ton of all-new enemies.

The action heats up a notch with improved Advanced Computer Modeling (ACM) for extremely detailed graphics -- the characters even sport realistic hair. And the original, rockin' soundtrack will keep your toes tappin' as you help Diddy and Dixie save the day. This game has 47 action-packed levels, most of which have two hidden bonus areas. It takes a lot of practice and experimentation to find them all.

Back Cover (PAL):
O.K. Kid, wipe that drool off your chin and listen up if you really want to learn something about this game. Sure, it's got newfangled computer graphics and what Diddy calls stereo sound that "rocks heavily and with little resistance!" But, the game play? Well, they finally added some proper challenge to the game - a snap for me of course. And the STORY? You sure ask a lot of questions, kid! Kaptain K.Roll and his cruelest cut-throat Kremlings have kidnapped that flea-bitten ape Donkey Kong. I figured I'd rescue him when the little pip-squeak DIDDY pops up along with his girlfriend, and they head off fixin' to prove themselves heroes or something. Come to think of it, I haven't laid eyes on those two for quite a while. I just may have to help them out after all!

*Play as Diddy or Dixie Kong, each with unique abilities!
*Eight exciting worlds with all-new levels and kremlings!
*Brand new kong family members and friends!
*Tons of new moves and special abilities!
*More secrets and challenges than Donkey Kong Country!
