Super Play Magazine UK
A four-player mode alone couldn't be enough to save a bad game, though. The success of video tennis ultimately hangs upon the controls. Here they're dealt with imaginatively and sensibly, with a wide range of shots at every player's disposal. That said, however, I'm still not 100°% happy with the control system. While the game is hugely enjoyable, and provides a real challenge, the ball movement occasionally verges on the erratic and unrealistic - it either floats around the screen like a balloon or bounces too fast like a ping pong ball .
Amazing Tennis may have lacked depth compared to this, but you can't deny the ball movement there was spot on - it's an annoying failing that you can't always say the same about Jimmy Connors' Pro Tennis Tour.
