This game is really a must have for anyone who is even slightly into RPGs. As for people who usually hate RPGs for whatever reason, this would probably be one of the only RPGs they would find themselves enjoying. It appeals to gamers of all types, casual or otherwise. You won’t have to invest 50-1000 hours into this game, as with many other RPGs these days, but you would most definitely be able to if you felt the need. Unfortunately, this game can be found basically nowhere. If you do happen to find it at some sort of gaming convention or used game store somewhere, it will most probably cost you something like 30-50 dollars. It is definitely worth the price, though. Anyway, if you can find it, play it. You won’t be disappointed.

Jaleco is very wise to bring out this title! This game's been rated as one of Japan's favorite RPGs for over a year! The music, puzzles (which are most intriguing), storyline and anything else you can think of are all new and improved. L2 is put together very well. With games like this, SMRPG and more coming, '96 is shaping up to be yet another promising year for 16-bit role playing fans.

Of course, as well as Lufia 2 holds up to the criteria of the RPG fan, it certainly doesn't boast an explosion in innovation for the RPG genre. Role playing game fans everywhere should have no complaints. But rest assured, that leap does need to come. Role playing games are all about exploring and discovering new frontiers. The time for the RPG genre to expand and grow is well past due.

Lufia II won't make you leap for joy, but it's an interesting diversion. Finished playing Super Mario RPG? Play Lufia II until something better comes along. Although forgettable, it's not regrettable.
