The Video Game Critic
The first thing I noticed about Madden NFL '95 is how it plays the actual NFL theme during the title screen! If that's not enough to get you psyched up, EA has also eliminated those cheesy passing windows! No question about it, Madden '95 marks a major step forward for the series. The players now have shadows, although this slightly muddles the visuals. New animations include straight-arms, high stepping, quarterback slides, and selectable touchdown dances!! Building on the previous year's winning effort, this game could not be touched.
This release offers just as much pigskin pleasure as it's forerunners and while there are improvements over Madden '94 many loyal fans may find the pace of change to be too slow to merit adding this one to their video gaming library.

No football season would be complete without the release of the latest Madden games for the SNES and Genesis. While each retains the same overall look from last year, both carts feature new graphics and animation. The players have been digitized and are much more realistic looking compared to the previous games. Since the SNES can show more colors and objects on the screen than the Genesis, it has a bit more flash, like detailed stadium graphics, team names in the end zones and a "hang time" clock.
If you're a die-hard football fanatic, then the new features make Madden '95 worth owning. If you're not a die-hard fan, then consider it a must-rental. Either way, you've got to play this game.
Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
This game rules with new and bigger player and touchdown animations, new defenses and all the new rules. Kick-offs from the 30 yard line and two point conversions make this game rule on the gaming gridiron. I had fun from the time I plugged in this game and broke every world record in it. This game kicks major butt. If you loved football like I do, you'll love it.
On the video game front, no challenge equals no fun. If I didn't want to have fun sitting in front of my monitor, then I'd be practicing on my WordPerfect skills. We've come to expect great things from the Madden creators and EA Sports but, frankly, this falls way short of any body's expectations.
