All Game Guide
The graphics, animation and crisp control are right up there with the best of the Super Nintendo's platform games. This probably comes as no surprise from a Disney game--but this time the overall level of quality far exceeds their previous efforts. While Maui Mallard doesn't deviate too far from other action platform games in terms of play mechanics, it never stops being a blast to play. If you've been looking for a Raiders of the Lost Ark type of game, this duck will surely fit the bill.

Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
This game took me back to the days when 16-Bit systems were at the top of the line. Maui Mallard has all the qualities of a great side-scroller. The graphics aren't rendered like Donkey Kong Country and that makes it even more like the olden days. The levels are great - sometimes seeming like they'll never end.
