GamePro
One drawback top to the game is it's limited replay value. Not only are the action/adventure levels fairly simple, they don't change, so the hidden items and enemies are always in the same place. What's more, the built-in level-select option enables you to see almost everything in an afternoon. Add all the factors up and Metal Morph morphs from a decent purchase to a super rental.

Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
Metal Morph has a number of good ideas going for it, it's just that they are not executed very well. For starters, the control wasn't as precise as I had wanted and the one-hit-and-you're-dead aspect made things maddening (that goes for the shooter levels also). Changing your character shape was innovative.
