Nintendo Land
The lack of a save option is it's only real drawback. Even if the game is excellent, most gamers are not perseverent enough to sit through such a big dosis of gaming in one setting, it's just too much to take. Shame, really as this means many will probably miss out on this unsung gem of the Super NES platform heritage. Those brave enough to give it go, however, will be richly rewarded.

There's nothing that especially marks out Mr Nutz as being better than other platform games. It's more a case of there being nothing noticably wrong with it, thanks to painstaking fine-tuning by Ocean's team of French programmers. Mr Nutz himself is just about spot-on, for example - really cute, neatly animated, and perfectly controllable (although he falls through swinging ropes unless he catches them at the very end, which always annoys me, and I'm becoming steadily less convinced by the concept of killing baddies by jumping on their heads - it's just too error-prone)

An absolute stunning-looking game which will attract envious glances from even the likes of Capcom. This could be the start of something big.

This irrepressible defender of the forest, already a cable TV star in the U.K. tries for the U.S. market in a fairly standard action adventure. Not bad...but undistinguished.

What it comes down to is that Mr. Nutz doesn't offer anything different or exciting. What's so great about watching apples and tomatoes get smooshed as Mr. Nutz jumps on them? I've tried to think of something interesting to say about the game, but nothing comes to mind. The game's okay, but okay just isn't going to cut it.

The video game world is currently overpopulated with cute little forest creatures and their endangered friends. Too many more and we'll all go nutty!
