Although the graphics and sound pull you into this game, the disappointing action doesn't keep you. The shoot 'em and slug 'em fights are too easy to win and the ending "reward" sequence isn't worth the wait. Unfortunately, this Rocketeer just doesn't fly.

Power Play
The Rocketeer ist durchweg dermaßen langweilig, daß es ein beinahe übermenschliches Maß an Anstrengung und Geduld erfordert, sich von Level zu Level voranzuquälen. Da auf Continues verzichtet wurde, befördert Euch ein Patzer wieder zum Anfang - und da lauert das uninspirierte Flugwettrennen, das man zu allem Überfluß zweimal gewinnen muß. Die atmosphärische, aber sehr ruhige Musik und die nostalgischen Comiczwischenbilder ergänzen so den quälend-langweiligen Gesamteindruck. Hier haben ein paar phlegmatische Programmierer ein müdes (und in dieser Beziehung ansteckendes) Spiel geschaffen.
