A trip down memory lane that proves to be almost exactly as much fun as you remember it being. Do yourself a favor and revisit this classic. Unfortunately, you're unlikely to see a newer version of this game, as Microsoft has the rights to the game license (probably picked up at about the same time they had the MechWarrior license.) and then scrapped the game they were going to make with the license. Uncoolness.

Besides, who hasn't wanted to hunt zombie terrorists down backed up by a slightly insane dwarf with a cannon twice the size as him, and a loquacious ork with twin uzis? This may be the only chance you ever get to do so!

Interface
Överlag är Shadowrun ett jäkligt bra och intelligent lir. Och hör och häpna, vi glömde visst att tala om en sak: det är på svenska! Vad väntar du på? Köp!

The ease of play balanced with taxing situations and plenty of Gung-Ho opportunities gives Shadowrun an almost classic status.

Super Play Magazine UK
Shadowrun is an open-ended game of discovery. The atmosphere and plot are like the cinematic sci-fi of Blade Runner and the oppressive future-vision of 1984. It's inspiring, full of moody visuals and imaginative puzzles. The programmers have seen the need to strike a balance between reflex-dependent arcade action and adventure game logic. One moment you'll be exchanging gunfire with a sniper; the next you'll be wracking your brains over a carefully placed, thoughtfully devised situational problem.

Immoral Gamers
Shadowrun is the closest thing people had to Fallout in 1993. It gives you choices, it gives you freedom, or at least the convincing illusion of these things. Gives you pistols and shotguns and leather jackets and subdermal implants that turn you into a world-class champion cyborg. Gives you elves and dwarves and shamans and half-naked dancing fox-girls and vampires with no concept of fashion set in an incredible world of menacing corporations and assassins hiding in dumpsters.

All Game Guide
In the end, Shadowrun is a worthwhile game for fans of adventure games who like a little role-playing thrown in for good measure. The setting and real-time combat may not be for all tastes, but there are not many games on the system offering such a wonderfully moody atmosphere.

Whatever the reason, this game was worth the play for me, despite its lacking merits. Others might not necessarily agree with me, but I suppose that the overall rating of 5 is fairly accurate. While not a particularly good game, some might find it enjoyable. Worth a play if you have the time to spare, although you may want to keep a window with GameFAQs open.
