Sküljagger: Revolt of the Westicans

Ultimately, the gameplay is too frustrating to make this an essential purchase. The idea of a pirate game is certainly a good one, but this title falls way short of the mark.

Replaying this game provides a good time. The levels seem pleasurable even after they become memorized. Blowing bubbles is always good for a laugh. The reason I bought this game is because I saw the German title, Sküljagger. "I want to own a game called Skull Hunter", I said. I didn't realize I was getting a decent game. It is a much better game than I expected.

Lets give this some graphics that look like they were from an early generation Turbo Grafx 16 game at best, and throw in some bubble gum rockesque/stupid sounding pirate tunes. Put it all in the blender and frappe it together and you get one lame excuse for a game. I couldn't bear it any longer after the second stage, and hit the power switch on my SNES. Now like any curious collector, you will try playing this game anyways, but you have been warned.

So spritzig die Idee mit dem Kaugummiextra auch sein mag, es bleibt schleierhaft, wie das Sküljagger-Modul durch die Maschen der Nintendo-Qualitätskontrolle rutschen konnte. Denn Sküljagger gehört zu übelsten Sorte spielerischer Mangelkost. Die Grafik ist von so schreiend mieser Qualität, der Trommel-Sound von so nervtötender Schrillheit, daß diese Cartridge ohne Zweifel als Marterinstrument zu gebrauchen ist.
