Trivia

DeJap Translations released a Japanese-to-English text translation on December 21st, 2003. It is not a total translation since items like voice overs and some icons haven't been translated, but all of the in-game text and story is now in English.

Using the S-DD1 compression chip it was possible to put 13 MB of graphics into the game. That in fact makes "Star Ocean" the biggest game ever released for the SNES.
