In diesem Sinne: Live long and prosper…

Starfleet Academy is as good as having the bridge of the Enterprise right in your living room. All in all, this is one adventure game Star Trek fans won't want to miss.
GamePro (US)
Trekkers may argue vehemently over who's the better captain - Kirk or Picard - but they'd all like to do one thing; command the Enterprise. Here's the chance.

You become a cadet at the famed Starfleet Academy, which unfortunately isn't as cool as you thought it might be. The graphics aren't all that hot and the classic missions don't really affect the game outcome at all.
Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
A nice variation on the theme (and departure from the previous Star Trek game), this one is more comprehensive in that it is more than just a shooter - you must master all aspects of a starship's functions. The combat training is a little aggravating at first, with enemies that hit you several times before you even see them.

The shoddy, lumbering battle system is almost certainly why Starfleet Academy got tagged as a bad game. If that’s what you’ve shown up for, then you’re right to criticize. My real disappointment is that they didn’t fuse a decent combat/flight engine (like the PC version of Academy) with the adventure-like mysteries and diplomacy seen here. Overall, it’s a series of generally well-written missions that nails the tone of the show, hampered by a choppy engine running on (arguably) the wrong platform altogether.
