Summary

A fantastic, lush game with little room for improvement

The Good

Mario RPG begins like most classic Mario games, however when a giant new threat comes crashing through Bowser's castle, things will soon take a dramatic turn.

Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is abnormally beautiful for the SNES. Graphically it is nearly outmatched. Also with a sound track with the help of none other than Nobuo Uematsu the game sounds as pretty as it looks.

This game is none other than Final Fantasy + Mario = Excelence. Mario RPG is a must have for any old school RPG fan.

The Bad

The games weakest point is the story line. It is enough to get by, but really the story is NOT what keeps fans playing. Normally a game with a week story would never get a ranking half this high, however, Mario RPG does everything else so well that the slightly week story is overshadowed.

The Bottom Line

Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars is a must have, beautiful, musically wonderful game. Though its story is not as grand as it could be, it is still a true masterpiece of its era.
