Indianapolis 500-style, hardcore circuit racing fans may want to steer clear, 'cause Top Gear 2 is just a joyride. What a joy it is though! There aren't mega improvements over the last version, but who cares? This sequel is stylin'.
Top Gear is one of my favorite racing games, just for the fun of it. The sequel maintains the fun while adding several more elements, and improving the graphics and sound. A simply incredible racing game, Top Gear II is my current favorite racing game on the market today. I will admit the graphics are not quite as sharp as some of the flashy games out there, but you can't beat the play control of this cart. Once I start to see FX chips in more and more games I am hoping a Top Gear III will be slated for release!!
A great racing game has been made better, with 64 tracks and 16 countries. You can race on the full screen even in one-player mode this time around, and the split-screen two-player mode's still hot.
Malgré de beaux graphismes, Top gear 2 utilise trop peu les capacités de la Super Nintendo. On a vu beaucoup mieux en matière de course!

There is a multiplayer option as well to add some replay value to the game, but it is a challenging game, so novice racing game people like myself will have to work at it a bit before they are able to do very well against the computer. Still, the game is fun enough that you will want to keep playing until you figure out how to do well at it. If you are in the market for a racing game on the SNES, this would be a good choice.

The excellent road gives a great sensation of speed, and the two-player mode is especially good fun, with a player who's lagging behind by miles suddenly shooting into the lead because he's been saving up all his nitros. But perceptive players will soon spot that all you're really doing is keeping your thumb on the accelerator while weaving from side to side for after after hour, which will induce boredom before too long.
So, just another sequel. It’s nothing new. It won’t take the world by storm. Things have moved on from this, surely?
