Nicht zuletzt dank der tollen Story und der fast vollständigen Umsetzung des Vorbildes ist „Ultima“ rundum empfehlenswert, auch der Rest des Games überzeugt: Die Bedienung ist gelungen, der Sound paßt recht gut zum Geschehen. Die optische Perspektive ist zwar etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber durchaus praktikabel, einbrechende Nacht und Dunkelheit in den Dungeons sorgen für zusätzliche Atmosphäre. Einziges Manko: Aus Kostengründen wurde wohl auf eine Landkarte verzichtet, was die Orientierung recht schwierig macht. Es hätte ja nicht unbedingt die noble Stoffkarte der PC-Version sein müssen, Papier hätte genügt...

Klassisch: Im mittelalterlichen Land "Britannia" sind die acht Schreine der Tugenden nach einem Großangriff der Monsterrasse "Gargoyles" in die Hand der Angreifer gefallen. Eure Aufgabe ist es, Recht und Ordnung wieder herzustellen, indem Ihr die Schreine mit der jeweiligen Rune befreit.
