All Game Guide
Like Tetris, Zoop is a deceptively simplistic game with very few rules, a clear objective and no secrets or surprises. And like Tetris, they'll have to chop off your hands before you'll be willing to stop playing. On second thought, maybe then you could play the game with your feet...

This simple mechanic is the sum total of the gameplay, but like all good puzzle games it remains solid over a decade beyond its initial release. The excellent jazzy soundtrack, which evolves with the gameplay as the blocks encroach even faster, stands out as well.

It's difficult to pin-point exactly what's missing, but it probably has to do with the fact that there is an actual technique (simple as it may be) that must be learned just to play. Let's face it, everyone already knew how to fit geometric shapes together.

GamePro
All in all, Zoop's a respectable puzzler, but it lacks the addictive grip of top-grade games like Kirby's Avalanche and Tetris. What it does offer is simple, fun gameplay.

The verdict: Zoop is an above-average puzzle game that doesn't use fancy graphics to hide weak gameplay. It doesn't have the addictive qualities of, say, Blueberry Pop-Tarts, but few games do.
