Sno-Cross Championship Racing

Un très bon jeu de la part de Crave qui profite des lacunes sur PSX pour nous pondre une simulation rapide, réaliste et tout à fait bonne.

At the beginning, I thought this game was going to be extraordinarily difficult. The control was loose and it seemed like I'd never be able to get first place in a single race. After I spent more time with it, Sno-Cross Championship Racing proved to be a very fun game. Although there are only seven main tracks, an average two-player mode, and a ho-hum time trial, I had a good time. The track editor's what I enjoyed the most, and is the main reason to play the game.

Snowmobiles are woefully underrepresented in video game racing, while four-wheeled fare is incredibly commonplace. Though some people may disagree, the fundamental differences between asphalt and snow or tires and treads are not that great. Sno-Cross Championship Racing, a quality game based entirely on snowmobile racing, proves that there's no good reason for the unvaried focus of today's racing games.

Normally, any game worth playing has been so hyped that by the time it reaches us that the actual experience is somewhat watered down by expectations. But Sno Cross Championship Racing by UDS and Crave arrived quietly on the scene with no fireworks or outrageous claims attached-and it was damn good.

Sno Cross seems content to play Creed to Sled Storm’s Pearl Jam, and succeeds in being an almost competent rip-off of EA’s snowbound racing sensation. Unfortunately, the game fails to deliver the sense of excitement that Sled Storm gave me. The tracks lack depth and the graphics are far from dazzling. I did appreciate the track editor, but I can’t honestly think of one reason why this game should exist.

Är det ett oförklarligt sug efter snöskoterspel man har känt på sistone ser jag ingen anledning till varför man inte skulle mätta dett behov med SnoCross Championship Racing. Har man dock inte känt några dylika begär gör man bäst i att köpa ett racingspel som inte utspelar sig i snö. Lämpligen något producerat av Sega.

Making matters worse, when the snowmobiles incur damage they tend to pull to one side. A two-player split-screen mode is available, but when you combine mediocre controls with a lousy framerate, the results are not pretty. I love the winter theme and overall design of Sno-Cross, but better controls are needed to elevate this one above the average mark.
