Snokie is a horizontally scrolling platform game where you must guide a penguin back to his home. You begin the game outside in a snow environment. Using the joystick to move left, right and jump, you must negotiate difficult obstacles along your path. Slipping into a crevasse or being hit by a rolling boulder will kill your penguin. A clock constantly ticks down during game play and when it reaches zero, you lose a life. If you make it far enough along the journey you will hit checkpoints which restart the clock. When you die, your next penguin will start at the last checkpoint you passed. The environment changes as you progress, offering new challenges. Ice floes need to be navigated and caverns feature stalactites that fall from the cave ceiling. If you complete the journey you are reunited with a large penguin in your cave home. The game features a normal mode and an accelerated speed mode as well as supporting two players taking turns.

Snokie Commodore 64 That crevice to the right doesn't look deadly but it most assuredly is.
Snokie Commodore 64 Touching anything lethal, like this brown boulder, kills your penguin, replacing him with a winking skull.
Snokie Commodore 64 Moving chains, stalactites and disappearing walls make up the difficult final area of the game.
Snokie Commodore 64 Stalactites and ice floes together present a difficult challenge. The brown dot embedded in the right ceiling will also come flying towards you once you get on the ice floes.
