Description

Snoops is a crime-solving puzzle game, comprised of two main parts. The first part has the player search for clues while avoiding bombs on a gridded floor in a Minesweeper fashion. Tiles that are next to a clue, even diagonally, are highlighted in green, while those next to a bomb have the red skull mark on them. In order to collect a clue, the detective only needs to investigate it normally. Other tiles usually hide different kind of prizes such as energy refills, gems and other items. If a bomb is triggered, the player can either attempt to cut the wire, defuse the bomb by paying with energy or finish exploring the room before the time runs out. The player has to complete several such rooms in order to gather all the clues and advance to the next part of the case, which is Solv-A-Tron. There, the clues must be associated with the right suspects. Once all the clues are attributed to their actual owner, the case is solved, the criminal identified and the next case is unlocked.

The investigation of every square and even checking if the clues are associated correctly in Solv-A-Tron spends an amount of energy. Once depleted, the player can go back to the office and use the energy generator. Gems can be used to purchase additional tools, which are sometimes needed to investigate locked squares, for example.
