DescriptionSolitaire King: Grandfather's Patience is a single player card game.
This title was of a number of freeware games that the developer released to promote interest in the full product, Solitaire King which had thirty-one different games and over eighty variations thereof.
The game is played with a two standard decks of fifty-two cards and the object is to arrange all eight suits in an sequence, one sequence in each suit starting with the Ace and ascending to the King and another sequence for each suit running from the King through to the Ace.
The game starts with twenty cards being dealt face up. If they can be placed on one of the foundations then this is done first and vacant piles are replenished from the stock pile. These twenty cards form the build area but each position can only hold two cards at a time.
In this game the player can only play through the stockpile of cards once and once a card is moved to the foundation pile it stays there. There are no variations in this game that make it easier
The player scores one point for cards moved to the foundation but scoring stops as soon as the player uses the Undo or Load a saved game options.
The game has save/load and undo/redo functions but has no sound and no statistics are kept. It is played entirely with the mouse
