Description

Solitaire King: St. Helena is a single player card game.

This game is played with two standard deck of fifty-two cards and the object is to arrange the cards in eight suited ascending sequences from ace to king.
The cards are shuffled and twenty cards are dealt in four overlapping rows of ten cards, this is called the tableau or the build area, with the remainder being placed in a stock pile. Across the top of the screen are the eight foundation cells where the aces are placed and the sequences are built. Cards can be moved from the build area to the foundation if they follow both in suit and in ascending sequence. Cards may be moved between rows if they follow in suit and descending sequence. Cards taken from the stockpile can be added to the foundation or any of the rows provided they follow the same rules otherwise they are placed on a discard pile.

The game has two variations which can be enabled via a menu bar option which makes the game easier to complete. The first allows cards to be moved from the foundation sequences back into the build area which gives the player more options when trying to complete and join sequences. The standard game does not allow a redeal, the second variation allows one redeal of the discard pile.

The player scores two point for cards moved to the foundation but loses one for each card turned over. Ten points are lost should the waste pile be redealt, all scoring stops as soon as the player uses the Undo or Load a saved game options.

The game has save/load and undo/redo functions but has no sound and no statistics are kept. It is played entirely with the mouse
