Description

A young photographer, hoping to make it big, is at a concert taking photos for the band. While he's working there, he bumps into a cute, pink-haired girl wearing enormous headphones, and can't get her out of his head. Soon after, he gets a curious work request: the girl is a young new idol named Super Sonico, and she wants him to be her personal photographer! Now it's up to him to help her become a star, and perhaps the two of them will find an even deeper relationship...

SoniComi is a so-called "love communication" game starring Nitroplus' mascot character, Super Sonico. The player plays the part of Sonico's photographer, and the game is divided into two main modes. Adventure mode proceeds like a standard visual novel, with the player interacting with Sonico and other characters through text-based responses. There are also some minor point-and-click elements in these sequences, and the player's responses and actions will influence the character relations.

The other main mode is the photography mode. Throughout the game, requests come in from various clients for certain types of photos. The player must decide Sonico's wardrobe for the shoot, along with the location, then can do up to three sessions per shoot. In addition to taking photos, it is also possible to give instructions or simply have a conversation with Sonico. The player is graded on the photos, with the results of each shoot influencing the story path, character relations, and even unlocking new outfits. There are numerous different endings that can be reached depending on the player's performance and choices throughout the game.

There is also a free photo mode where the player can pick any unlocked outfits and scenes, and do a photo shoot with Sonico without any specific requests or requirements. Photos taken in this mode can be saved for later perusal.
