Space Race

Overall, Space Race is a highly entetaining product that grabs you from start to finish and never seems to let go. It's especially appealing to anyone who's personally fond of the Looney Tunes cast and is seraching for a fun, arcade-style racing game. Without a doubt, Infogrames gets the thumbs up for publishing an exciting game that offers plenty of replay value, memorable characters, and the simple factor of aiming to be the fastest, blastenest racer, this side of the pacos!

Space Race is still a fantastic game. Though it's beginning to age, it still doesn't have much competition on the PS2. It's worth a purchase if you like kart games-especially if you'll make use of the multiplayer aspect. Fans of the Dreamcast original, however, should dust off the DC and go a few rounds. You won't find much new and should pass, even on the rental.

Ein wahrer Flashback! Früher hätte ich alles getan, um auch ja keine Folge der "Looney Tunes" zu verpassen. Es ist schon ein tolles Gefühl, die Charaktere, die man früher am heimischen Fernseher gebannt angeschaut hat, nun selbst zu steuern. Auch wenn das Spielprinzip recht simpel ausgefallen ist (was will man bei einem Fun-Racer auch erwarten?), macht Looney Tunes Space Race wirklich verdammt viel Spaß. Die Steuerung ist eingängig und durch die vielen versteckten Extras bleibt auch die Motivation weiterzuspielen lange erhalten. Insbesondere für jüngere Spieler und Cartoon-Fans ein Muss. Doch selbst Zocker, die dem Genre weniger abgewinnen können, sollten allein wegen der genialen Präsentation einen Blick riskieren.

Un titre sympathique et distrayant qui devrait faire le bonheur des petits comme des grands. Humour et bonne humeur sont au rendez-vous de ces courses délirantes qui risquent toutefois de vous rendre complètement dingue à la longue.

The DC version of Looney Tunes is better than most cart racers – that is, it doesn’t totally suck. The crisp graphics capture the spirit of the classic cartoons. The weapons, in addition to providing some comedic destruction, deliver some clever visual punchlines. Squashing your rivals with a falling elephant proves particularly satisfying. Decent, but it won’t make anyone forget Crash Team Racing.

Looney Toons fans should flip over this fun, underrated racing game. The presentation is superb, with first-rate voice acting and silky smooth animation.

Space Race aurait pu donner quelque chose de bien mieux, l'univers des Looney tunes étant propice à un excellent Mario Kart-like. Malheureusement, il n'en ressort pas grand chose en l'état la maniabilité étant hasardeuse, les graphismes des plus pauvres et les modes de jeux aussitôt vus, aussitôt oubliés. Le tout n'est pas une catastrophe sans nom mais on aurait aimé un peu plus de folie créatrice.
