Merchants are scattered throughout levels.

Buying and selling is the main focus of the game.

Combat plays a large role in Space Trader.

NPCs can give you helpful information.

Contraband Merchants sell illegal goods which can be risky to transport.

Defeat crime bosses to gain cash!

Each game is played against the clock. The galactic map shows you how long it will take to get to each destination.

Talking to citizens can give you a few useful (or non-useful) tips.

Some of the traders have armed guards.

Some people will offer you bounty-hunting missions. If you accept, you are transported to a small level where you have to take down the target, FPS-style.

The moon.

Arrival at a new destination shows you whether the goods you are carrying have gained or lost value.

News bulletins are a great way of finding out what the 'hot' commodities are. Also, you can see the results of my recent bounty-hunting job on criminal kingpin Sally Barris :)

The starport on earth is a pretty nice-looking place.

You might think the icons above people's heads represent their thoughts... and that is possible. But actually a '$' means that guy is a trader, and an '!' indicates a mission you can take.

Moral quandary. Shara Pods are highly illegal on earth. Will you take on the mini-quest...?

Each starport you visit is pretty small. It only takes a few minutes to wander round and locate all the traders and people offering missions.

Trooper

Trading. Note that once you have met a trader, you can click on their name in the 'contacts' list and be instantly transported to them. Good for comparing offers quickly.

Another shady deal

Bounty-hunting missions involve the game's shooter aspect. First, take out the crime boss' goons.

The map on the right shows locations of enemies and collectable goods that are scattered around.

After a short time, the crime boss arrives on the scene. If you don't kill them quickly enough, they'll make their escape. You won't get a second chance at the mission.
