SPYCRAFT - THE GREAT GAME

ABOUT THIS FILE:
This is NOT a walk-thru. Not all areas of the game are covered. It might help you get through the game, or help you in an area if you are stuck. While playing, I opted not to use the On-Line feature, so the game may be different for those of you who do.
BASIC TIPS:
- Save your game OFTEN. This game is very linear (you must do one thing before being able to another). The decisions
you make in the course of playing directly result the
actions available to you at any given point.
- Take notes.
- When in doubt as to what to do next, open your PDA,
COMLINK and access your OPS MGR. Click through all of the
folders and see what you (and other members of your
team) have not done. Listen to all reports from your team
members.
- Go back to your office often to retrieve messages and
access your computer for the other tools.
- Also, go into NEWSLINK and; get any recent news.
Download all books from the ECM for use in the cypher
tool.

WASHINGTON:
The Farm:
License Plate #: 2GGX829
Number of Tanks with engines running: 6
Zone: Concentrate on leaving (find the White X).
No need to kill everybody.
Beacon location: Proceed straight ahead several
screens and click on the beacon (it is flashing).
Dubanski killer: (Using K.A.T.) Zoom in on
window; use Mix and Match tool; Click for more info; Read all
about the killer (Thomas Jefferson Phillips).
Weapon identification: Zoom in on podium; Read descriptions of weapons and find the Pulse Electric Gun. Send report.
PEG thief: (Using Security Model) Concentrate on Dr. Darren Cohen, the others don't matter. Read about Dr. Cohen - notice he doesn't use elevators. Go to his calendar and click on all items. Be sure and click on all voice icons and analyze all phone messages. Click on elevator access on 24th and run Mix and Match tool. Find thief - Wayne Allen and read all about him.
PEG accomplice: (Using Security Model) Go to Dr. Cohen's calendar and click on phone call for 22nd. Write down the address given. Analyze phone message carefully. (This one was hard. It may take you several tries to get it right. Highlight just the words FRIDAY LATE, female voice, until you get the match and red folder you're looking for - YING). Read all about Ying. Report.
Finding Ying: (Using Cypher Tool) Click on items on your desk and then click on your computer to load. Notice book Beowolf. Put picture in brief case. Download 2 books. Evidence pages (on your keyboard) click on computer to decode. Read info about program. Load program. Click on Ying's sticky note. Highlight Beale-A-B-Beowolf and decode. Report: Ying She Moscow.
Photo Doctoring: Grendel face- use bottom left photo resized smaller. Cigarettes- Emperor filterless center pack resized smaller; place pack in center of table in front of ashtray. Newspaper- use Turkish left resized bigger; place paper on the right side of the table with the left side of newspaper at his elbow. Print. (This might take several tries to get the pieces just right)
Other things to do: Search offices of Holt and Seaton (later in game) for clues.
MOSCOW:
Miscellaneous: Meet with Foster; Call Yuri; Check your messages and OPS MGR; Meet with Yuri; Meet Russian politician (Churbanov - doesn't his girlfriend look alot like Hillary Clinton?).
Birdsong: Poor little guy is scared to death. I told Birdsong to kill the mafia person. I'm not sure this was the proper response, but it worked in getting something going. When Birdsong is missing, use Sound Analysis and isolate key sounds to get his location (4 sounds should be found). Use mapping tools to find him. (He is in the town north of the bird's normal habitat (didn't write down the town name!) at the residence near the bird sanctuary (northeast on city map). Report.
Ying interrogation: Show Photo-Grendel goes to..-Grendel's talking..- If you talk, Grendel joins you.. (find out who she works for).
Procat: Call John Blake and go to London; get file; read it. Get phone call from Harmonica (your office). Decide whether to tell Max about the call or not (I did). Go to alley and talk to Harmonica. Agree to membership. Return to your office. (Note: If you are caught rummaging around Max's office, she will turn you in and the game will end.) There may be other ways to handle this scenario, but I didn't see any other way.
Birdsong hostage situation: Get recorder on floor (stakeout location). Watch replay of crime and isolate photo to look at it. Review file on Kneecaps to get his address: No 19 Leningradsky Prospect. Go to location. During rescue operation, throw grenades in rooms on 1st floor (bottom middle and bottom right side). Move all of team to 2nd floor. Throw grenades in any rooms where fiber optic viewing reveals they "are hiding something". Birdsong's location is 2nd floor, northern-most middle room. I rescued him by surrounding the captors from both angles - from the south entrance and the east entrance. Remember to throw grenades to empty occupied rooms to the south and east. Blast a hole in any walls to get you where you need to go.
Onyx: Unencode message (use The Rabid Hound) and get information about the PIT. Read his file and notice: vegetarian, business class, aisle seat. (Also notice that his family lives in Jammu). Review flight information and write all of it down - note the ones that match the above criteria. Don't forget to note the airline name. Your office - phone call from Yuri. Go see him and get CIA file. Review file. Look especially at the purchases with airline companies. On 3/8 he flew into Heidelburg. Look at dollars spent in Heidelburg. Report: Hotel Schlumpen, Heidelburg. Go to Germany. Talk to Onyx and get password (threaten his family in Jammu to get correct password which is French Vanilla). Look around his apartment; get handcuffs and click them on him to tie him up. Proceed to PIT location and get it.
Decoding new message: If you get stuck here, remember where you got your other new books. Open ECM and download this month's selection "Cloak goeth the Raven". After successfully decoding this one, you will need to go to remote Tunisia.
TUNISIA:
Finding Mirage: Your game will be saved automatically here. You must kill everything in your path before the white X will appear. Drop your weapon. I elected to kill him. Get his computer.
Chopper: Nothing to do in the first scene. Back up to get to the scene with the seats and computer bag. Click on the bag; click on the computer. As quickly as possible, click your PDA on the computer and select download files. Watch the download and listen to the countdown. Wait as long as possible (I waited until about 12) and click on stop and yes. Click on the computer again to close it and pick it up -- throw it out the right window. Whew! That was close!
ENDGAME:
Red Square: Read and decode all procat messages. Note the ocsillator uses 480MHz ... so you'll be looking for the Red pulses. Harmonica is in the top left (northwest) quadrant, where Volpe, P. is patrolling. Go to the red dot in that quadrant. Click on Close PDA. Shoot quickly.
Procat shutdown: Open your PDA and OPS MGR. Run Procat from your desktop. Exit PDA. Retrieve message. Go to new location. It gets really interesting here. Don't shoot Warhurst -- yet. Start asking questions. Jaime will cut in (hard to hear her) and use the sound hack to distract Warhurst. Shoot Warhurst after Jaime talks to you. Remember *Protect Churbanov*!
Shoot Yuri. Congratulations! I'll meet you in the islands!
