Rare has done a lot right here. It has successfully created a vast world sewed together by a main quest and also connected by various sub goals. Fox must not only retrieve four Force Point Seals, but six Krazoa Spirits (ghostly entities that possess the power to free early-captured Krystal from her prison), too. He can only complete these objectives if he has first rescued Prince Tricky, a sidekick character that is more or less an annoying baby dinosaur. He must grow Tricky's powers and simultneously level up the functions of his staff, both of which play an integral part. He must find and buy items that are useful in advancing, and much more.

Just Adventure
In terms of gameplay, you will play the game once and find little reason to go through it again. There are many secrets and extra things you can do, but for the average gamer, the whole adventure will take about twenty hours to complete. It is a wonderful adventure though, and after you complete each section, you will be impressed with what you have done. I highly recommend this game to any lover of the 3D platform genre.

Snif. Mais il vous reste Miyamoto.

Gaming Target
If there was one thing that I would complain about in regards to Starfox Adventures, it would be that the game isn't challenging enough. Combat never had the intensity that it should have, due in part to the fact that only one enemy in a group would attack you at a time. Throw in easily executable combos (that look great) and you should never have any problem dispatching the SharpClaw. If I was to get really nitpicky, I could point out a couple of odd shadowing issues or the occasional animation not quite matching up, but there really is no use. The game is fantastic in every regards, and has been well worth the wait.

UK software house Rare started development on its 3D epic Star Fox Adventures at around the same time life erupted on Earth. Now, some billions of years later, with a long and troubled history rooted back to Nintendo 64, the game has finally arrived. So the big question is, has the wait been worth it? The answer is, quite simply, yes. Fox McCloud's latest journey comes as a rip off of Shigeru Miyamoto's Zelda offerings in just about every way possible and although Rare's execution isn't as brilliant as Nintendo's, it's still very well done. Star Fox Adventures is not without faults, but it's still a long, challenging adventure full of polish and complemented by some of the best graphics yet seen on GameCube.

Within just seconds of play, one thought came to mind: Zelda. The more I played, the more emphasis was weighed onto this comparison, and I eventually came to the conclusion that this was the closet that I’ve seen a game come to mimicking another. Through and through, Star Fox Adventures is a carbon copy of the Nintendo 64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Game Over Online
Star Fox Adventures is an impressive undertaking, if only for the fact that Rare somehow managed to form a cohesive whole from the various locales, characters, and magical undertones by embedding an evolving storyline that makes the extensive traveling, interacting, and wizardry seem not only feasible, but also stylish in such an outlandish setting.

Actually, Star Fox Adventures is simply a great game in most every respect. It's true that those expecting the same sort of frantic shooting action that characterized previous Star Fox games won't find it here, nor will they finish Star Fox Adventures in just a few hours like they could finish those old games.

Ultimately, Rare has made yet another impressive and meticulously designed game. It's perfect for kids, but older gamers will wish the gameplay had a bit more depth. On the whole, Star Fox Adventures is good fun and should tide gamers over nicely until Metroid Prime and The Legend of Zelda hit the GameCube.

Bon bah maintenant il faut conclure. StarFox Adventures est un must. Beau, jouable, bonne durée de vie, il arrive facilement à égaler Ocarina of Time et Majora’s Mask. Mais pourquoi tu nous quittes Rare ?

Star Fox Adventures is huge, varied, and the closest thing to Zelda you’ve played since, well, Zelda both a great thing and an unfortunate one. Link’s li'l shoes are notoriously hard to fill and Fox’s furry li'l feet are about one size too small.

Even with the game not living up to my expectations, it is a breath of fresh air to the Gamecube and should compliment the system well. And with the recent developments at Square I would wager that this will be the last Rare title ever to grace a Nintendo console.

Power Unlimited
Een groot en prachtig vormgegeven avontuur, dat door gebrek aan uitdaging en originaliteit niet iedereen evenveel zal kunnen boeien. Geen vosje om zonder nadenken op te pikken.

It might not be the greatest Rare title ever (thanks to its bizarre combination of overly obvious and frustratingly unfair puzzles) but, in the end, StarFox Adventures is certainly a respectable ending to what has been a beautiful friendship.

Deaf Gamers
In summary, if you would like a lightweight, Zelda-esque adventure, wrapped in excellent graphics and sound, which is deaf gamer friendly, then look no further than Starfox Adventures.

It is this reporter’s opinion that Star Fox Adventures is a casualty of downright stupid assumptions and fanboy freak-outs. It’s a solid adventure game with some great twists. Three years ago, this reporter was stuck in his apartment with his then-girlfriend due to an insanely intense ice storm for five straight days. It was a very, very small apartment. Star Fox Adventures quite possible saved that girl’s life. For that, it has earned my eternal gratitude.

Sadly though, nice visuals and an hour or so of Arwing action isn't enough to rescue Starfox. It lacks tension (combat is totally one-sided), set pieces (there are two whole bosses in the entire game), a gripping story (Krystal's kidnapped, you rescue Spirits, you fight General Scales), and any of the myriad different things that the game it principally tries to emulate (Zelda) was so famous for. What's worse though is that much of the game is filler - of the fifteen hours, several are spent simply wandering in search of your next destination. So on reflection, it's not a bad game, but it's too short, it's too samey and it's just not good enough. Unless you're a huge fan of Starfox, have a soft spot for simple, pretty adventures or you're simply a glutton for punishment, Starfox Adventures really isn't worth the bother. Rent it for a weekend - that's all the time you'll need and all the entertainment you'll glean.

It may be awful, but Starfox Adventures looks like a million bucks. The animation is smooth, and the graphics are so finely detailed that you can even see the hairs on Fox's head! The rolling meadows and flowing water look inviting, as do the snow-encrusted evergreens of the mountain stages. The controls are responsive, and you can save at any time. But the quest itself is so tedious and lame that even the dinosaurs look bored! They seem to speak in some kind of foreign language. Are you telling me that someone actually took the time to concoct a whole new language for this lousy game!? What a colossal waste of time!! I tried to like Star Fox Adventures, but it has an intangeable quality that makes me nauseous. Its only thrills come from its brief space shooting stages, which offer a tantalizing glimpse of what could have been.
