The game underwent a story rewrite after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, since the initial story happened to mirror those events quite closely.

Hazard Team member Korban is voiced by Tony Todd, who played Worf's brother Kurn on both Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Jeffery Combs, who did a voice over, makes regular appearances on Enterprise as an Andorian and a Ferengi. He also played as Weyoun on Star Trek Deep Space 9. Mr Combs achieved some notoriety as the mad doctor in the cult classic movie, Re-Animator.
