Somado com o inegável apelo do nome "Star Wars", "Knights of the Old Republic 2" vale cada centavo e horas de jogo investidas nele.

Knights of the Old Republic II is a worthy title and a fun ride for any PC game player. The interface is simple enough for a novice to learn, and the plot is deep and enriching enough to please even a hardcore RPG player. It is every bit as good as its predecessor, and in many ways even better.

The great thing about KOTOR 2 is that you get four totally different game experiences, depending on how you play the game. Your alignment and gender affect the storyline, giving you a different experience in each game. The only thing that would make KOTOR even better would be if you could make characters from alien races like Galaxies. On my first time through, KOTOR 2 took me about 30 hours to complete. Considering you take the time to complete the side quests and mini games, you could have a near 120 hour experience, if you play it each of the four ways possible. The Sith Lords is well worth your time and money, regardless if you are a fan of Star Wars or not. You will enjoy the freedom and power of what it is like to hold the fate of the galaxy in the palm of your hands.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is an excellent port from the Xbox that remains true to all the elements that made the original a success. Obsidian hasn’t strayed from a proven formula but they have added a few interesting and subtle touches that will delight RPG fans and Star Wars fan alike. Whether you choose the Light or the Dark path, remember, the Force will be with you always…

Smug Statement: The Sith Lords is smart, deep, dark, and stands as the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Timothy Zahn penned the extraordinary Heir to the Empire trilogy. Much like a Padawan learning the ways of the Force from a Jedi Master, Obsidian Entertainment has embraced the teachings of BioWare, built upon the original formula, and forged a powerful sequel that will take your breath away faster than Vader ever could.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2- The Sith Lords may not reinvent the RPG wheel (nobody expected it to), but it does smooth over the rough parts, making for one great ride. A greater story, more memorable characters, and improved combat options make KOTOR 2 another intergalactic trip you’ll thoroughly enjoy.

But if KOTOR II ultimately feels like KOTOR 1.5, well, you know, better that than Daikatana 1.5, right? This is a very good follow-up to the best single-player role-playing game in years, and that's OK with me. KOTOR II is a big, often complex, mature piece of storytelling—and I'll take it over anything that's been onscreen with the Star Wars name in 25 years.

KOTOR 2 shows that to make a truly impressive RPG you really only need two things: a workable and fluid engine, and some seriously talented writers. KOTOR 2 also has superb settings, great sound and music and a combat system that strikes the right balance between action and considered confrontation. Even if you haven't touched or were left underwhelmed by the first KOTOR, if you have an affinity for either Star Wars or RPGs it's very unlikely that you won't find yourself quickly getting sucked into the sumptuous atmosphere and intrigue that is KOTOR 2.

Following hot on the heels of its Xbox release, KOTOR II arrives on the PC with much fanfare. Though there are few extra frills (don't expect any new quests or locations), make no mistake; this is the definitive version of KOTOR II.

KOTOR 2 is a great game that lives up to its lofty predecessor. However, the game isn’t revolutionary and sticks very closely to the original in terms of gameplay, meaning that if for one reason or another you weren’t a fan of the first Knights of the Old Republic, then you probably won’t care much for the second one. This is unlikely, though, as the first game was a masterpiece.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is a masterful piece of storytelling. I spent all 60 hours absolutely riveted to the tale and couldn’t wait to know more about both my own past and the pasts of those I traveled with. I was gratified the whole time to know that the geniuses formerly of Black Isle Studios are still alive and kicking. Great characters, a vibrant galaxy to explore, and a seemingly-unstoppable menace make for an ambitious and cinematic play experience marred only by lacklustre graphics and infuriating lockups. If you are an RPG gamer looking for a fix, this will undoubtedly be one of your picks for Game of the Year.

KOTOR was a superb example of modern computer role-playing and remains one of the very best Star Wars game ever conceived - and Sith Lords is a continuation of that tradition. It's not quite up to the standard of Empire Strikes Back perhaps, but it's still certainly the second best middle act to grace any Star Wars trilogy. Let's just hope that the next episode can at least equal The Return Of The Jedi...

More importantly, all these mechanics -- the moral slider, the influence system, combat, etc. -- are surrounded by a first rate story that's almost as mythic and fantastic as the films themselves. Like I said, if you like RPGs or if you like Star Wars, you'll definitely like Knights of the Old Republic II. And if you like both? Man, oh, man. Get this game.

WindowsGame Over Online
Overall, I liked KOTOR II a lot, just not quite as much as KOTOR. Some of the magic wasn’t there this time, whether because KOTOR II is a sequel using a similar engine, thus removing the novelty of the game, or perhaps because Obsidian tried to do too much in the game, and the things that don’t quite work or that were cut out due to time constraints have a negative influence. Or maybe it’s because I got a little lost in the story. Whatever the cause, it isn’t a huge drop-off from KOTOR to KOTOR II. KOTOR II is still a polished game with a lot of replayability, and it’s well worth buying, for fans of role-playing games and for fans of Star Wars movies both.

Whether you’ve played the first or not, KotOR 2 offers a complete RPG experience – with a full bodied story, a good experience points system and combat that’s fairly satisfying. While the PC version is dragged down by various Xboxism’s such as occasionally sticky controls and slightly limited environments, like the recent Vampire: Bloodlines its flaws are easily forgivable when you consider the quality of the rest of the game’s construction. Offering hours of entertainment and great value for money, KotOR 2 may not be as exciting as Republic Commando, but it’ll certainly last longer.

If Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic left you wanting more of its near-perfect blend of exploration, combat, and role-playing, then The Sith Lords is going to give you your fill. It's the first product from Obsidian Entertainment, a studio composed of veteran RPG designers that took the development reins on this sequel from BioWare, and it evidently stayed true to the original style and vision in the process--that is, you wouldn't be able to guess just from playing The Sith Lords that this was the work of a different developer. Ironically, though, since Knights of the Old Republic was such a big game, with so much replay value, it didn't necessarily scream for such a similar sequel. As a result, you might have a much tougher time settling into The Sith Lords, since chances are you'll feel like you've played this game before, only you'll swear it looked better the first time.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (kurz: KOTOR) war der RPG Kracher 2003.

Knights of the Old Republic II delivers an incredible story and intriguing plot intertwined with clunky gameplay and dated graphics. Star Wars fans will find a lot to love, and even non-fans will find much to like in a well-designed game provided they can be patient with some of the game’s shortcomings.

The PC version of Star Wars: KOTOR II - The Sith Lords gives you the same sort of huge, epic story that the fist KOTOR did, plus a few extra goodies on the side. This is not an expansion pack and you do not need the original KOTOR in order to play, which opens the game up to you Padawans as well. Despite some slightly dated looks, the deep plot will draw you in and the near-invincible power will continuously tempt you to the Dark side. I can't make any promises for Episode III, but The Sith Lords will not disappoint.

Those are, in a nutshell, the new additions. It's an effective sequel that makes the statement "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" ring true. Some sequels try to do too much and end up doing nothing for the improvement over the original. So, if you are excited in going through another KOTOR adventure, you will be very pleased. Otherwise, the experience may be lukewarm, but if you haven't played the original Knights of the Old Republic you will find the game impressive. That's the merit of the people down at Obsidian: make a sequel without changing the core elements, and just add to an already great game. Ultimately, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is a very good buy, and a great gaming experience.

The first Knights of the Old Republic was a breath of fresh air among console RPGs. The sequel is more of the same excellence, but with a few new failings. It’s unquestionably a great game, and certainly the best RPG on the Xbox this year, but the aging game engine and patchwork ending make it fall short where its predecessor excelled.

I absolutely adored the first Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). The variation in gameplay elements and their optional nature was almost more than I could believe. This was complemented with a top notch storyline and excellent production values and as such made it probably one of my favorite RPG's of all time. With this in mind, I was in great anticipation of The Sith Lords and had high hopes for it. While still an excellent game in its own right, it does have a few things that hold it back from being the progression that it should have been, and that hamper it from being the classic that the first installment will no doubt become.

The sequel offers plenty of hours of fun - we're talking 20-30 hours of playtime here, being wrapped in a story that will surely keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. KOTOR 2 does possess the same addictive qualities that made me fall in love with the original, and that is why I had a strong desire to play on. In terms of the final score, I was prepared to disregard most of the drawbacks if only the game hadn't performed so horribly for me at critical moments. It should be noted that I haven't played the aforementioned missions on my NVIDIA rig, but that's no excuse if the game runs like this on the second most popular GPU on the market. Should I blame ATI or should I place the blame on Obsidian? I have no clue really, and it's not my business to weigh on such matters. All I know is that the horrible performance, a few random crashes, and other minor bugs have severely diminished my enjoyment of an otherwise addictive and excellently written Star Wars RPG.

Vivement KOTOR III !

Knights of the Old Republic 2 could have been the most intellectually challenging and best-written RPG since Planescape: Torment. The quality of the 20-hour section between the plodding start and the preposterous ending is easily 9/10 territory. Regrettably, the multitude of technical issues and the sheer anti-climax of the conclusion almost completely ruin any satisfaction you'll take from the game. Had it not been for the short development cycle, and the imposition of an ending that feels like a creative cop-out (clearly intended to set things up for a sequel), this should have been one of the finest RPGs ever made. Instead, I feel KotOR 2 can only go down in history as one of the most disappointing missed opportunities for greatness in recent years. If reviews are game buying guides, then this one comes with a huge caveat emptor - beware the buyer!

In the end "Knights of the Old Republic 2" is a great follow up to the original game. If you played the first, definitely get this one. You'll love it and mind those graphical glitches.

While Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords has more than its fair share of problems, it still has a lot in its favor. After helping a random innocent person instead of killing him, that memorable Star Wars music begins to swell, and it’s hard not to thing think that Obi Wan Kenobi, bless his soul, would approve. The interesting decisions and the gripping characters still manage to hook their addictive claws into the player and almost make it easy forget about the game’s many shortcomings. In this case, “almost” is good enough.
