Startron

Description

In Startron the player controls a space ship which flies on a two-dimensional surface. While flying the ship leaves a trail behind which acts like a wall - touching it results in a crash. The goal is to collect different coloured crystals which are found somewhere on the field. After a death the trail gets reset but all collected crystals stay in the player's possession.

The game is played in a 3D perspective; the camera is fixed behind the ship. There are three world with overall 24 levels. In the multiplayer mode the goal is to trap the other players with the own trail. It also features an optional two-dimensional perspective for a better overview.

Trivia

Although the game's title screen lists a web site at the bottom (http://www.startron.org), the web site only contains a cgi-bin folder that you are forbidden from accessing. The game can be downloaded from another site, however. See the Links/Searches section for this one.
