For anyone who is a fan of Stephen King or just a horror aficionado, F13 is worth a purchase. It would be great to see this original concept taken a step further and have available a Clive Barker (a Hellraiser/Pinhead screensaver!) or Dean Koontz series of utilities. My only legitimate beef is the few proofreading errors I found in "Everything's Eventual." They do cast a blemish on an otherwise polished product. Maybe we can blame these oversights on the F13 key.

Stephen King's F13 is exactly what it claims to be. It is an entertaining computer-based horror story with some mini-games and system add-ons thrown into the package. It is not something which will keep you occupied for weeks on end. The components included are all very high quality and should appeal very much to Stephen King fans and horror fans in general....but not hard-core gamers.

For the suggested price of thirty dollars, this really isn't worth the money. Perhaps if the novella was interactive or if more games were included, this would be a better buy. All in all though, it was a bit of fun and most hardcore Stephen King fans will want this. So find one of those fans and borrow this CD!

Stephen King’s F13 is an interesting collection of digital frightware. Unless you are a rabid King fan, there is nothing compelling about this product. It is not so much a full-on game but a collection of interactive software inspired by the works of Stephen King.

Even rabid King fans and completists will be disappointed with F13. It's unclear whether the designers even read much of the author's work, as so little of it informs these gadgets aside from a trivia screen saver. Given King's library of familiar plots and icons like Salem's Lot, Carrie, Cujo, and Christine, it's surprising that Presto Studios missed the opportunity. Just imagine the ways in which a vindictive Carrie, rabid Cujo, or pissed off Firestarter could have torn apart your screen. How about blood-filled vampire meters for indicating system resources or battery life? In fact, every gadget in F13 will probably only leave you thinking about all the ways it could have been done better. The only one who might be frightened by F13 is Stephen King himself, who risks tainting a fine pop entertainment legacy by attaching his name to this sort of thing.

If you're a King completist, you might consider owning this story reason enough to waste $20, but everyone else should steer clear. Spend your $20 on some Stephen King paperbacks and run screaming into the night as fast as you can in the opposite direction of this collection. It's horrific for all the wrong reasons.

I would not buy this game. The only people I would even recommend this game to are the avid fans of Stephen King. If you own every other writing of his including: The Eyes of the Dragon and the complete first edition Dark Tower Series, then buy this. You aren't going to want to play this for more than a week or until you finish the novella, but you will want this in your undoubtedly complete collection of King's works.

F13 är stämningsfullt och sjukt som bara den, men knappast kul. Den som tror det kommer att bli redigt lurad. Spar pengarna och köp en bok istället.

The whole thing kinda stinks to hell and back. Even a very large pile of dog poo smells like roses compared to this. Not recommend to any at all, I would not give this to my worst enemies.

While it's obvious that F13 isn't marketed at gamers, it's unlikely to appeal even to fans of the over-producing author. A collection of screensavers, desktop wallpaper, sounds and a few games might not be the most exciting proposition, but it could have been so much better than this half-hearted cash-in (from the studio that brought us the dreadful Star Trek: Hidden Evil). Whacking skeletons with a spade and feeding cows to voracious piranha is about as far as the games go and while a short story that has 'never been released in book form' is included, it's hard to imagine who'd want to read 80 pages on their PC screen. A nightmare.
