I don't know that I'd call 2010 a particularly great game, but it is original enough to be interesting. Due to your limited firepower and the way enemies love coming at you from different angles, it often feels like you're under-equipped to handle challenges. But there's something fun about a game that's (more or less) an extended boss gauntlet, with only an occasional auto-scrolling stage to clear along the way. The game isn't the sort of thing I'd consider a likely cornerstone of anyone's NES library, but it's a fun, challenging title that makes for a good weekend project. And once you tie in minor tidbits and trivia, such as its hilarious commandeering of the Street Fighter name, the unlikely adventure is the sort of novelty that has to be experienced at least once!

Capcom's answer for fighting games is here, but it is only for the experts! Final Fight contains all the familiar elements of a good action game, but the techniques that are used are overly complicated and detract from the game.

Another issue is that the time allotted to find the portal to the next level is limited and expires far too quickly to be fair for players who have not yet memorized their locations. Still, the feel is unlike any standard fighting game, so it’s worth it to try some futuristic fisticuffs.

Thanks to its jarring stop-and-go level structure and complex controls, Street Fighter 2010 has an odd, engaging feel, unlike any action game you’ll play on the NES. If you can withstand some punishing difficulty (even by Capcom standards) and overlook its silly moniker, it will surprise you, even as you’re cursing its name.

Overall, this is a VERY HARD but surprisingly rewarding action platform game that gets better the more you play it. The story is completely bizarre but funny in a B-movie kinda way. While the game is at times VERY HARD for all the wrong reasons (poor disbursement of power ups), if you played this game in the 90’s and didn’t like it, i would give it another try! You might be surprised – it is not as horrible as you remembered!
