Street Fighter Alpha 3

Some stages look grainy and washed out, and most lack the personality and clever animations Street Fighter fans have come to expect. Likewise the music isn't particularly memorable. In addition to arcade and versus modes, there's a World Tour mode that lets you adopt a character and pump up his abilities by completing series of challenges. Alpha 3's load times are minimal and there's a convenient auto-save. I would probably argue that the Alpha Series peaked at number 2, but this third edition still packs a wallop. Note: This game is also available on a PS2 compilation.

Stupéfiant, hallucinant, énormissime seraient quelques superlatifs qui caractériseraient bien Street Fighter Zero 3. Livré à nous dans sa meilleure version console grâce aux manettes Saturn et à la cartouche de RAM, on se retrouve tout simplement face à l'arcade dans nos salons. Capcom a toujours énormément soigné ses jeux sur consoles Sega de toute façon et gratifier à la Saturn en fin de vie un tel trésor, sincèrement cela mérite un grand merci de la part des fans. Tous les personnages répondent à l'appel, le système de ISM et tous les ajouts côté gameplay font de ce jeu une expérience de grande qualité pour les amoureux de gameplay précis et pointilleux et cerise sur le gâteau, il n'y a presque aucun loading. SFZ3 se retrouve propulsé sans mal sur le podium des meilleurs jeux de baston 2D jamais créés par Capcom, avec Street Fighter III Third Strike et Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, et il est clairement l'un des meilleurs jeux de la Saturn.

Inutile dire che è espressamente raccomandato a chiunque sia un fan della saga o piu' semplicemente un appassionato di picchiaduro, senza contare che la versione Saturn a differenza di quella Dreamcast (che comunque è ottima) lascia inalterato dalla sala il livello di collisioni tra i personaggi, rendondo cosi' possibili tutte le combo imparate precedentemente in sala. Cosa state aspettando? La recensione è finita! Correte a comprarvi un Saturn, il gioco e mettete in bundle pure un amico, che ciò che avrete tra le mani è uno di quei pochi giochi che puo' durarvi un'eternita'.

As a hardcore gamer myself, I personally found this version to be the best Street Fighter to date, though that's quickly changing with my appreciation for Third Strike. Dreamcast has once again proved that 2D conversions can be accomplished with ease, and to think, this is still first generation software. If you have the means and ability to purchase Zero 3, do so now, you certainly will not be disappointed.

But if you don't have the PSX version, or if you're a Street Fighter fan who just has to have the very best, pick up Alpha III now. Delayed however long it was, it's still the best 2D fighter around.

The only negatives couldn't have been avoided during the game's creation, so it's nearly impossible to talk smack about SFA3 unless you never liked the series to begin with. Being a hardcore fan since Street Fighter II, I couldn't help but love the Alpha games, and I commend Crawfish Interactive for such a fantastic job on the GBA edition. If you buy one fighting game for your Game Boy Advance, skip over King of Fighters EX: Neoblood and Guilty Gear X Advance immediately -- Street Fighter Alpha 3 won't disappoint.

You want arcade perfection? You want quick loading? You want ultra smooth animation? You want no-slowdown? You want mint control??? Then you want the Saturn version of Street Fighter Zero 3...

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is basically a port of the PlayStation version released only months earlier. The game shines on any system, no matter what, but I can't help but yearn for the control of the PlayStation (or even the Saturn) instead of the bulky Dreamcast control. It's funny, if not a bit ironic, Capcom has always given better treatment of their 2D fighting games when it comes to Sega ... but this time, even though this is a highly recommended game, it's not much better than it was on the PlayStation. Will Capcom be able to count to four?

As we come to an end to this review, I just want to say this, with 6 modes, 4 secret modes, 2 secret characters plus the PocketStation support, SFA3 is one of the longest and and one of the greatest fighting gams ever.

Streetfighter Zero 3 is a fitting end to Capcom’s enduring Saturn commitment, as well as to the great machine itself and is my personal recommendation for the best home Z3 conversion - definitely the one to get if you’re able.

Put simply, Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Gameboy Advance contains most of what you loved from the console games many years ago, and applies it (with unparalleled bonus content) on a reasonably comfortable yet very accessible handheld format. With almost forty characters, and more customization than you would ever have thought, SFA3 for the GBA is an exceedingly complete package made even more rewarding for its aesthetic beauty and technological marvels! With responsive controls, slick graphics, fast-paced gameplay, insane replay, and a true challenge factor, Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Gameboy Advance is easily the greatest handheld fighting game ever, and even holds up admirably against its bigger brothers; a technical marvel!

Oh, and PocketStation support is in the game, it's just hidden. Capcom will release the information as soon as Sony is ready to launch its campaign here in the US. Hopefully, that's soon! Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a quintessential, must-have fighting game.

Den enda riktiga bristen i spelet är att det fortfarande känns som att reaktionerna på skärmen inte riktigt hänger samman med knapptryckningarna. Vare sig det hänger på handkontrollerna eller på programmeringen är det ett irriterande fenomen som Capcom inte kunnat får bort sedan de första Street Fighter-spelen konverterades till Playstation. Men trots det är Street Fighter Alpha 3 ett spel väl värdigt det klassiska Street Fighter-namnet. Och ett spel som alla Tekken-spelare borde ta en titt på för att lära sig ett och annat om timing och perfektion.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is and I’m sure going to the be the best fighter on GBA for a long time. I thought there was no way in hell SFA3 could make a proper transition from a home console to a handheld. If you’re a fan of fighters and own a GBA. Do yourself a favor and pick up this Gem.

With all things considered, Alpha 3 is the best beat-em-up I've played since Soul Calibur. It trounces pretenders like Dead or Alive 2 and will fulfil Street Fighter fans' wildest fantasies without breaking a sweat. It looks a little dated now, but presentation and execution is second-to-none. As for longevity, there's just so much to do and see, and with the burgeoning online community it could still be seeing some action in several months' time. Highly recommended.

Though will say differently, this is the best 2-D fighter for the console. That's saying something on a console packed with Mark of the Wolves, King of Fighters, and other Street Fighter titles. The sheer volume of things to do and accomplish could easily keep someone busy for months, more than worth the price on the sticker. It may even take you months to figure out how you like to customize your favorite character with the "isms" and such. This is a totally fulfilling experience on every level.

There was really no reason to expect that Street Fighter Alpha 3 would turn out this good?maybe as good as the Super SFII port, but players probably expected less here. Instead, with quality gameplay, impressive graphics, five play modes, and a two-player link, SFA3 exceeds expectations, making it an absolute must-own for 2D fighting fans.

There are some little elements that certainly could have been addressed before the game shipped, like the hard-to-see powerbar during sunset levels, or the awkward, unlabeled fighter list during the Vs. and Training Mode, but I don't want to close this review off on a list of negatives. Street Fighter Alpha 3 is definitely one of the best fighters on the Game Boy Advance to date, and shouldn't be missed if you're a GBA owner that has the taste for the successful Street Fighter action.

The Dreamcast version of Alpha 3 keeps all the great modes and additions from the PlayStation version but also uses the more powerful hardware to its benefit, delivering larger character sizes, sharper and more colorful graphics, and extremely minimal load times.

This has got to be the best version of Street Fighter yet to hit the Playstation. Capcom seems to have addressed all of the 2D issues of the past and have brought an arcade perfect fighter to the console for our enjoyment. The wonderful hand-drawn graphics move and animate the best that I have ever seen in a 2D fighter and the action is non-stop. So, if you are a Street Fighter fan and want the very best version that the Playstation has to offer or you are just interested in seeing what a truly marvelous 2D fighter can look like, than you owe it to yourself to check out this title! If there was even a Capcom fighting game to get, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is it.

This might be the greatest 2D fighter Capcom has come out with yet. Everything is in order and so very perfect if you don't mind the dated graphics on such a high powered console. Pick this one up and you won't regret it.

Posiblemente se podría criticar la falta de innumerables secretos a desbloquear, tal y como ocurre en Capcom vs. SNK o en Marvel vs. Capcom 2, pero la inclusión del modo World Tour, y que cada personaje tenga su propio final, muy modesto, eso sí; palía con creces este pequeño defectillo, convirtiendo a este juego en una seria opción dentro del campo de la lucha 2D, para quienes posean una Dreamcast.

Slight hand cramp is but a small price to pay for the ultimate handheld fighting title. Although the gameplay of the many Street Fighter iterations is beginning to bore some who've already had their fill of 2D fighting, rabid sprite fans should have only minimal hesitation in deciding whether to pick this up. Not so long ago, the thought of a nearly perfect version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 for a portable gaming system was unthinkable. We've always wanted portable fighting games, but for the most part, we've never really expected them to stack up to their full-blown counterparts. Yet the Game Boy Advance has seen the release of several surprisingly uncompromised fighting games, and the new Street Fighter Alpha 3 is probably the best of them. The third and apparently final installment in Capcom's popular fighting game series marked the return of the entire cast of the legendary Street Fighter II, and it featured a number of other new and old characters to make for a huge roster of more than 30 fighters.

For anyone who likes the idea of playing Street Fighter on the move (and that's quite a lot of us), Crawfish has done the impossible and given the handheld market a fighter of which it can be truly proud.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the Dreamcast beats out the PSX and Saturn versions as the best version of Alpha 3 you can buy. Unfortunately, the way Capcom ported the graphics is just terrible, and takes away most of the game's visual appeal. Still, it's all about the gameplay, and in that respect Alpha 3 is the most complete 2D fighter to hit the market in ages. While it will likely be eclipsed in a couple months by Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Street Fighter Alpha 3 remains highly recommended.

If you want a good technical SF blast without all the Marvel superheroes and super ultra mega combos, then SFA3 might be up your alley. If you get all doe-eyed for special effects and fast graphics, then this game will disappoint you quickly and often.

De deux choses, soit vous possédez cet épisode sur une autre console et vous pourrez faire l'impasse sur ce titre, soit vous n'avez qu'une GBA et dans ce cas ce Street Fighter Alpha 3 apporte suffisamment de nouveautés par rapport à Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival et dans ce cas de figure, il ne vous reste plus qu'à courir acheter ce jeu chez votre revendeur préféré...Ready...Run !

This faithful arcade conversion sees Capcom bend over backwards to deliver its most rewarding home conversion yet. This time around, a pack of returning veterans has its first "Alpha incarnation" alongside four newly introduced women fighters. For those still skeptical about the PlayStation's 2D capabilities, Street Fighter Alpha 3 will make short work of any resident doubts. The game's graphical prowess and arcade-perfect gameplay combined with its cache of bonus modes makes Street Fighter Alpha 3 the latest standard for 2D excellence on the PlayStation.

The Street Fighter faithful will be able to appreciate this package, flaws or no flaws. Since the Game Boy Advance is not anywhere close to being a 3D monster, we shouldn't be expecting titles like Soul Calibur or Dead or Alive making the sojourn over anytime soon, if at all. Thus, for all intents and purposes, this could be one of the definitive titles you'll see on this platform when it comes to the 2D fighting genre.

Technically astounding, until you notice the missing stuff. If you're just in it to fight though, it's great.

Technically, this is a nearly flawless port. The music isn't that big of a deal as it can turned off, but the control is still too much to handle. Games like this require so much strategy, so many pin-point button presses, that the button layout simply can't handle it. Otherwise, this is a great port.

Crawfish have built a marvellous version of an incredible game, and will mark them out as one of the great lost components in GBA game creation. However, betrayed by hardware, their vision has been obscured by Nintendo's short-sighted approach to physical production. Play the game in whatever manner you can - your eyes will rejoice, but your hands and fingers will scream - but play it, just to see what can be done by developers with immense talent and detemination.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 Saikyo Dojo est véritablement le meilleur jeu de combat 2D. Bien sûr, Marvel vs Capcom 2 est plus beau, possède plus de personnages mais c'est un cross-over et les puritains préfèreront sans doute la série des Alpha. Le mode World Tour, les options internet, les personnages cachés, ajoutent d'autant plus à la durée de vie en solo. Un bon investissement pour qui aime le combat 2D.

I have to admit that I am mostly disappointed with Capcom?s new net features. The novelty of using your Dreamcast?s modem to finally download something that had to do with a game was fun at first. But, it soon becomes a tedious boring process. Looks like we will just have to wait till September when we can have truly net playable titles. As for the game itself, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a huge improvement over the arcade original. With the large cast of characters and different play modes, street fighters everywhere will have plenty to tool around with. The World Tour mode is the best addition to a Street Fighter title yet, taking plenty of ideas from Soul Edge. In this case, however, borrowing is a good thing. In all, it is still the Street Fighter series I have loved for years with a few nice additions. Street Fighter fans can pick up yet another great title.

Capcom nous offre une énième version de Street Fighter. Les noms continuent de s'allonger, les possiblités grandissent mais est-ce que l'intérêt est présent dans ces graphismes toujours aussi fades ? J'en doute.

Capcom se moque un peu de nous et use le filon jusqu'à la dernière pépite. Une pseudo aventure ne réussit pas véritablement renouveler le titre et les vieilles ficelles des combos et autres super méga géants perso cachés commencent à être un peu élimées.

The bottom line is that Street Fighter Alpha 3 plays exactly like the hundreds of other Street Fighter games before it. Pretty much everyone will be able to pick up and play this title with no trouble at all. Any way you look at it, it's still Street Fighter with a few extra modes and characters thrown in. Die-hard 2D fighting fans will still enjoy this title. The rest of us, meanwhile, will just shake our heads and grab our copies of Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive 2. Some things never change.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a fantastic port on the GBA, but the controls hold it back from being a great title on the system. If you just want to mess around with Alpha 3 on the GBA for a few minutes the controls aren't a big deal. But if you're a fight fan that wants the whole experience on the road, use the PSone instead.
