Sudeki is a great game that isn?t given the justice it deserves.?There was a lot of hype surrounding this game when it was first announced and as far as I am concerned it has delivered.?It may not be the greatest RPG out there, but it is a nice divergent for the standard tactical RPGs that are all too common.

The general overall feeling in Sudeki is one of familiar ground with a good variety of quests to accomplish using a strong cast of characters. Sudeki tries a new path and gives us real time combat instead of the normal turn-based style which works. Sudeki plays like an eastern role-playing game, with western combat ideas. The best of both worlds you could say, but you'll need to judge that for yourself. Sudeki is defiantly worth the money.

The Xbox is not a console known for its large library of RPGs, so Sudeki’s release was anticipated by many a gamer hungering for a bit of role-play love. While it would have been nice to see the title last year, the delays were put to good use and the final version shines brightly.

I really had a lot of fun, Sudeki. I think you’re a great game no matter how they spin you. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to give you such a high score (because of how it would contrast with popular online opinion) but darn it, Sudeki, you deserve an 87%.

Sudeki is an enigma. It has all of the components of an epic RPG yet it never manages to live up to its own potential. The combat system is totally unique but flounders in some clunky timing issues. The skill strikes are cool but few in number and lose their “wow factor” about six hours into the game. The game world is colorful and amazing to look at and the people are interesting with hours of spoken dialogue, but the story and character development are weak and you never really become part of the adventure.

It's been a long time coming, but Climax Studios' promising RPG Sudeki is finally at hand. With the Xbox RPG lineup split between some of the very best RPGs of all time (KOTOR, Morrowind) and the true dregs (Metal Dungeon anyone?), it was only a matter of time before a few average RPGs began to show up on the list to split the difference. Welcome, Sudeki, an RPG that manages to create an absolutely balls-on fantastic combat system only to stifle it with some very plodding, predictable, and overall uninspired RPG elements. That's not to say Sudeki isn't worth your hard earned bills, but buyer beware, this is not the game of the year, or even the game of the summer.

Sudeki feels like a lightweight RPG. Yes, it certainly is stylish,
but it never approaches the complexity or depth of Morrowind or
similarly vast titles. Look upon this as an introduction to RPGing,
or else a tasty filler to keep you occupied until the next big title
comes along. It's a lot of fun, certainly, just not a lasting or
ultimately fulfilling diversion. And Climax, if you need a hand
generating names for your next title, I've got the deluxe edition
of Scrabble here, so I'd be glad to help out…

At its core, Sudeki really is a good game. Unlike Microsoft’s previous failures, the combat in Sudeki is very enjoyable. If this was a single player game or the other players could control characters, much like Tales of Symphonia, or even if the AI showed a modicum of actual intelligence, this could’ve been one of the greatest adventures to grace the Xbox. As it is, Sudeki is a passable game. It’s much better than Azurik or Nightcaster could ever dream to be. Unfortunately, with Fable releasing very soon, it’s not as much of an evolution as I expected.

Sudeki on epäonnistunut yritys parannella japanilaisten vuosia hiomaa seikkailukaavaa täysin väärin keinoin, ja heikon esityksen kruunaa puolivalmis pc-käännös. Peli kaatuilee tiheään Atin korteilla, sekä hieman harvemmin muuten vaan. Unohtakaa kaupan hyllylle.

The world of Sudeki is actually two. The lands were rent--light from shadow--long ago, when a dark god decided that he'd rather not share with his kindhearted brother. The light god, Tetsu, appealed to the peoples of the world for aid, and four legendary heroes rose to strike down the evil deity, Heigou, to restore peace to Sudeki. That was several hundred years past, and since all ancient evil is unionized and contract-bound to rise again, you can bet that Heigou's resurgence draws near. This is where you come in. You'll take control of the swordsman, Tal; the sorceress, Ailish; the beast-woman, Buki; and the gun-toting scientist named Elco to fight and protect the land of Haskilia from invasion--so that you can ultimately save the world of Sudeki. Unfortunately, along with crowds of evil creatures, you'll have to contend with an often-cumbersome battle system and some odd design choices that rob much of the adventure of its luster.

Sudeki isn't in the same league as Japanese RPGs such as Final Fantasy VII and Tales Of Symphonia, or the more-recent US-developed World Of Warcraft. What it does have are hundreds of NPCs (some with dire accents and acting), side quests and hidden treasures, along with plenty of weapon, magic and character upgrades, plus eye-smacking graphics that approach the visual splendour of those titles. However, RPGs are all about the battles and level-ups, and Sudeki's clunky real-time combat system spoils the game and brought ruin to my keyboard.

Sudeki has a solid foundation on which to build a worthwhile sequel--namely, its combat system. It's obvious that the bulk of Climax's efforts were spent on making that element of the game compelling, and it paid off. I found myself wanting to continue playing the game, despite being turned off by pretty much all of its other elements. The character development system is pretty nice, too--it gives you enough options as to how you want your character to develop, but it doesn't overwhelm you.

The battle between good and evil is as old as time itself, so it’s no surprise to see it showing up in Microsoft’s new action/RPG, Sudeki. The gods of light and dark are vying for control of Haskilla, yet it's up to a soldier, a princess, a scientist and a beast-woman to ultimately decide the fate of the world.

Sudeki is an RPG, and a console RPG at that -- unlike Morrowind or KOTOR, which adapted PC RPG mechanics to a console format, Sudeki takes virtually all of its cues from Japanese-derived console games. There are notable exceptions to this in the gameplay, which we'll get to in a minute, but the story follows standard Japanese RPG tropes, the characters have the big eyes and wacky hair typically found in Japanese RPG designs, and the highly linear progression through the game is, again, something fans of Japanese RPGs are used to by now.
