Supreme Earth Champion is just another space shoot'em up. The game is divided in non-stop 31 "waves" of progressive difficulty (after that, it'll loop Wave 31 indefinitely). The ship is controlled with the arrow keys and shoots with the Control key. The player can collect ship upgrades (dropped by "flying cows") such as new main weapons (a rapid fire cannon, a spread fire cannon and a laser beam), up to two orbital weapons, a force field, up to three rocket launchers, extra lives, point multipliers and some other temporary upgrades. Some items taken can also destroy all enemies on screen.

Supreme Earth Champion was programmed by James Silva as a homework for his University. In his own words: "I'm making a game for class to show (a) how easy it is to make a game and (b) how especially easy it is to make a space game." According to James, he got an A for the game.
