Teen Titans is right on the money as a budget brawler for the waning GameCube. Excellent multiplayer support and a package that will make fans of the series giddy are offset with marginal production values (please, just stop interrupting the gameplay to load that next bit of the level) and repetitive gameplay. A good buy for the price, especially if you are looking for some new multiplayer action on your GameCube. More importantly, it is the foundation for a great sequel.

Ultimately Teen Titans won't keep you interested forever. A2M got enough elements right to make it an engaging romp that fans of the series and comic book will enjoy for X amount of time. The budget price is definitely a deal-maker especially if you and your friends plan on playing it quite a bit. The game is a mindless, simplistic punching bag that will either be music to your eyes, ears and thumbs or a crushing disappointment for those looking for more depth (note to self: lower your expectations of superhero games, dude). A rental would certainly suffice for anyone but the most diehard of Titans fans.

This is an OK fighting game that makes good use of its license, but unless you're a diehard fan of the Titans a rental is best. I finished it in one evening and it was worth it for the best ending to a game I've seen in awhile.

With the cancellation of the cartoon series and with this Xbox version arriving almost a half-year after the other console versions, Teen Titans for the Xbox may seem like too-little too-late but such is not the case. It will give fans of the series a chance to spend a little more time with their favorite heroes before having to say goodbye.

Unlike its titular heroes, Teen Titans is anything but remarkable. However, it's simple and it uses the license well, making it a solid purchase for younger players or those who are especially fond of the cartoon. The fact that it's a budget game makes it easier to excuse some of its more apparent technical flaws, but the gameplay still wears thin after a short while. Still, if you're looking for some cheap, mindless fun with lots of immature, wisecracking super heroes, Teen Titans is about as good as it gets.

While straightforward and uninspired, Teen Titans still provides enough content for young fans of the show. It's not terrible by any means, but there's a good chance seasoned gamers simply won't find much to keep their attention. As a title aimed at kids, though, it's not half bad.

Some might say, well, it's a kid's show and a kid's game, but kids these days are smart, and they've proven more than able to get their heads around complex games. If you're going to hit your audience with meta-humor about wireframe graphics, you ought to follow up with gameplay that gives them just as much credit.

In the end the game does have its pluses, and its minuses. It is a budget game, so you cannot expect too much from it. What it does provide though is a solid storyline that links up with the cartoon. Overall it is a solid game, but nothing special. It will keep you entertained for a few hours, but after that you will move on to other games. This will also be said for the hardcore fans of Teen Titans. All and all the game gives you an average experience, and so Captain Gordon gives it a C.

It is, in fact, best likened to the bit where one of the characters happily blasted his finishing beam into the floor, in a cutscene, while all of the others concentrated on the boss. In short: a bit of a misfire, really.

It's hard to argue that Teen Titans should appeal to older gamers, given that the target audience skews pretty young. There is something to be said for grinding through waves of dummies with three of your friends, even if there are much better games that can boast the same (namely, the two X-Men Legends titles, this game's clear, vastly superior inspiration). Teen Titans is a short and unspectacular diversion for an audience that might be too young for more mature fare, and the price is certainly right, but those more discerning with their beat 'em-up dollars should hunt super-villains elsewhere.
