The new World Tour mode is very cool. It lets you create players, train them, and enter them in tournaments. The training mode is actually a series of addictive mini-games. Tennis 2K2 is an outstanding game that retains the solid gameplay of Virtua Tennis while adding some fun new features.

Tennis 2K2 serves up more of the same slick gameplay as its predecessor, but it now has even more panache than before thanks to its new features. The intuitive controls have been retained, but to enhance the original's sim-like feel, a slice button has been added and the serves are a little more difficult to perfect. The sights and sounds are new, too. Don?t throw out your Dreamcast yet! Tennis 2K2 simply rules by all standards, especially when played with a gang of four friends.

A game with awesome features, great depth in play mechanics, sharp visuals, and addictive gameplay. Love might mean zero in tennis, but Tennis 2K2 is the winning ace that any Dreamcast fan will fan in love with.

I would go as far as saying that Virtua Tennis 2 is probably the best tennis sim ever. Nothing else is as deep or as challenging or fun to play. There may be some that would argue that Smash Court or Mario tennis is the best tennis game ever devised, but a quick session on Virtua Tennis 2 will quickly make them see the error of their ways.

Overall, Tennis 2K2 is a worthwhile experience that is a great addition to anyone's DC library, and the arcade action is so addictive and fun that you can't go wrong. Definitely a must-have, and at least give it a rental, folks.

Du som inte har spelat Virtua Tennis 2 har en riktig högtidsstund att se fram emot. Bättre än så här blir det faktiskt inte.

En double, c'est la folie pure tant les échanges sont impressionnants, et les doubles-mixtes assurent un fun omniprésent, même si évidemment la vue rapprochée n'est plus permise. Voici donc un titre incontournable, un soft que l'on peut considérer déjà comme le jeu culte pour les amoureux de tennis. La Dreamcast a encore son mot à dire avec des chefs-d'oeuvres tels que Virtua Tennis 2 et le second épisode de Shenmue qui commence sérieusement à se faire attendre.

It is a real shame then, that Acclaim couldn't manage to include the ability to play full games as the maximum number of games you can play only amounts to one set. It is a small fault with a generally pleasing game. It definitely managed to keep the arcade version's playability and it is a surprisingly sociable game with the four-player mode. It also pulls a few decent punches, with the world-tour mode which is infuriatingly addictive. This is an honest adaptation of this modern arcade classic.

No aporta excesivas novedades esta secuela del mejor juego de tenis de todos los tiempos, pero si el original te enganchó, y te crees el mejor jugador de tenis "virtual" del planeta, no deberías de dejar pasar la oportunidad de enfrentarte a éste GD, es todo un desafío.

Pero la principal pregunta sería: ¿Merece la pena SST2k2 si tengo VT? Rotundamente, SÍ. Es un juego mucho más dinámico, adictivo y duradero. Con más pistas, tenistas femeninas, creador, un World Tour mucho más largo, mejores movimientos,... ¿qué más queréis? Os lo recomiendo encarecidamente, tanto si tenéis el 1 como si no (en este último caso más aún). Tener una Dreamcast y no tener este juego es pecado, y si no tienes una Dreamcast no sé qué haces que no estás en la tienda comprándote una.

Der Nachfolger von "Virtua Tennis" hat sich wirklich gemausert. Das Grundprinzip ist zwar beim alten geblieben, dies war eh schon sehr gelungen, aber es gibt doch einige Neuerungen. Nicht nur, daß neue Sportler und Sportlerinnen ihr Bestes geben, auch das Gameplay wurde verbessert. Die Figuren agieren noch lebendiger, flüssiger und weicher. Ein Editor zur Erschaffung eigener Spieler, wurde integriert. Auch der Welt-Karriere-Modus ist abwechslungsreicher, hier gibt es einige neue Trainingsaufgaben.

But as a sequel that improves on the original and gives experienced players a reason to shell out another $40, Tennis 2K2 is a smashing success. I think I just made a tennis pun, but I'm not sure, which just goes to show that you don't have to love tennis to appreciate Tennis 2K2. The only prerequisite for appreciating this must-have game is the Dreamcast you'll need to run it.

Tennis 2K2 is the fastest, most exciting tennis game ever made. If you're going to let its extreme difficulty scare you away, then you might as well stop playing games all together. Video games are meant to be challenging, or else they wouldn't be any fun.

Ein Satz. Das ist nach wie vor der Kritikpunkt über den ich nicht hinwegsehen kann. Ansonsten könnt ich jetzt sagen das Virtua Tennis 2 ein sehr gelungenes, spaßiges Tennisspiel ist, das sowohl im Einzel- als auch Mehrspielermodus überzeugen kann. Das Gameplay ist jedenfalls klasse. Aber wie in einem Review, so ist auch bei diesem Spiel ein Satz einfach zu wenig.

As with any sports series, the key to success lies in finding a balance between innovation and retaining the feel of last year's game. Tennis 2K2 honors the look and feel of the original Virtua Tennis, but the innovations made may not be enough to warrant a purchase for those veteran Virtua Tennis players out there. Even still, there's a lot to like about Tennis 2K2, and those who haven't already played a great deal of Virtua Tennis will discover a new love for this under-appreciated sport.

Tennis 2K2 is an excellent tennis game, easily the best one out there. Is it enough of an improvement to justify shelling out for this version? In the end, I'd probably have to justify getting this new version, especially with the addition of the female roster and the tightened-up controls. Others might not find that worth the extra 60 bucks, since the original still stands up as a great game even today. Still, multiplayer rocks hard, the graphics and control are sweet, and all DC owners owe it to themselves to check out one of the best games on any system. Simply said, you can't go wrong with Tennis 2K2.

Virtua Tennis 2 är ett magiskt tennisspel som är ett av de bästa sportspelen någonsin. Betyget 10 känns inte alls långt borta, men det tar emot att sätta en tia på ett tennisspel som saknar tresetsmatcher. Men det är fantastiskt att Hitmaker lyckas förbättra ett redan fantastiskt spel. En klar kandidat till Årets sportspel på Spelgalan 2001.

As with its predecessor, it only takes a few minutes to get the hang of Virtua Tennis 2, and if you don't own the original game you must seek VT2 out. It's the best example of a tennis game we have. It is a far cry from Virtua Tennis' worthy successor though, unfortunately. Your own love for Virtua Tennis will command the purchase decision in this case, but as an annual update I have to give Virtua Tennis 2 a fairly harsh rating, because it's obviously not just scotch tape and bits of string, but it's not even an EA-level improvement.
