Terminator 3: The Redemption really is worth the price tag. If it was retailed at the standard price then I'd still be inclined to recommend it but at this price it'd be a crime not to check it out. With a fast and frantic single player with all the trimmings, plus the voice and image of Arnie, I can't complain one bit. And when you've completed the game with a high score there's some decent cheats to unlock that enrich it even more. Not only that, but Redemption has a cracking storyline that ties in with the films and the full motion videos tell the story very well. With Terminator games of this standard, I'm hoping Arnie will be back soon for another fulfilling instalment.

To wrap this up, Terminator 3: The Redemption is fine a piece of software with very few bugs and awesome graphics and sound. Despite the voice acting and a story that follows the movie (but is different enough to give you something new), this game is a winner, and I definitely recommend this game.

The story in Terminator 3: The Redemption loosely follows the plot of the movie, T3: Rise of the Machines. Rather than just copy the movie, Atari dared to be different and added an extra twist to the scenes in the game. You also get to see more of the post apocalyptic future in addition to more Skynet technology. As you progress from chapter to chapter, you are treated to actual clips from the movie as well as computer-generated clips. If you ever wondered what happened after the movie ended, this game gives you a little taste of what could possibly be in the sequel. Now, let’s get to what makes this game fun.

If there is anything holding Redemption back besides some quirky controls is that there is almost no reason to play through it again. The linear story provides no real incentive to return. Otherwise, Terminator: Redemption couldn't have happened upon a better name.

Overall Terminator 3: The Redemption is by far the best T3 game out there and if you are a fan of the movies you could do much worse shooter-wise than become the 101 T-800 Terminator and save the world.

Terminator 3: The Redemption is what Rise of the Machines should have been as opposed to the abysmal title it turned out to be in the end. The pace never slows down and it’s action all the way; perfectly mirroring the fantastic movie. If only it wasn’t as unforgiving at times I would have seriously thought about giving the game an extra point. But as it stands this does firm justice to the famous licence, and at a bargain price it’s well worth the patience.

Overall I really did enjoy this title. It's damn hard and the developers have certainly captured the spirit of the future war-torn world. The best news is that even though it's being released at only $49.95 here in Australia it's not your typical budget title. In fact, it's probably the best game launched on the PS2 at that price and well worth picking up.

Someday, my dream of owning games based on Raw Deal and Junior will come true, but until then Terminator 3: Redemption will tide me over. Not only is it the best Arnold or Terminator-themed game ever (which isn't saying all that much), but it's also one of the best licensed games around.

Atari is taking a big bet with T3: The Redemption. The previous T3 game came out less than a year ago, and this one shares key similarities in terms of plot and overall atmosphere, though the gameplay is much better. I went into the game not expecting much but when I let go of my prejudice; I found that it was quite enjoyable although nothing particularly innovative.

Much like Enter the Matrix, Redemption rewards players nicely with new plot points that expand upon the third Terminator film. I never though I'd see the day, but there's finally a Terminator game worth playing.

Terminator 3: The Redemption is a mixture of three action-oriented gameplay types, on-foot third-person shooter combat, vehicular chaos, and on-rails shooting scenarios, with one of each type sometimes comprising an entire level, or, as experienced in the latter half of the game, a mixture of two. Anyone who has played Electronic Art’s James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing should feel right at home, since T3: The Redemption even features a similar lock-on "one of the more enjoyable action games I’ve played all year" targeting system, but unlike that game, T3: The Redemption is actually fun. It’s a game that makes you feel like Arnold in one of his classic movie roles; as someone who kicks ass and loves to blow shit up.

You’ll have to forgive me. For all my feminine wiles and daintiness, there’s a big sci-fi geek in me that gets really giddy when a new Star Wars game comes out or when an all-time favorite sci-fi action franchise decides to release a game that attempts to bring to life the genre in all its action-packed glory. Another Terminator 3 game, though? It’s been done--and badly, I might add. But the sci-fi geek in me is oh so optimistic and when Terminator 3: The Redemption showed up I was happy to give it a chance.

Terminator 3: The Redemption is far from perfect but its improvements are a step in the right direction and consequently making it the best Terminator game so far. There’s a nice gameplay variety found in The Redemption and this does spice up the action, but this is a novelty that wears off pretty quickly. If you’re a fan of the Terminator series looking to play the game that should have been released the first time around, this is the one to play so do yourself the favor of renting it.

In the end, Terminator 3: The Redemption manages to serve up a nice variety of ways to shoot the hell out of a lot of cyborgs as well as to keep things fresh and interesting throughout its relatively short, but still enjoyable 14 missions. Though you may be thoroughly disinterested in anything bearing the Terminator name at this point in time, due either to last year's lousy crop of T3 games or the amount of time that has passed since the film's release--or both--if you still have any interest in all things Terminator, or are even just a fan of good old-fashioned shooters, T3: The Redemption is most certainly worth a weekend rental.

It has been just short of a year since the last game to bear the Terminator 3 namesake was released, and it's probably safe to say that the last thing most players were clamoring for was yet another Terminator 3 game. This is primarily because the last set of T3 games to come out--Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines for the PS2, Xbox, and GBA, and Terminator 3: War of the Machines for the PC--were nothing short of awful. Evidently, however, Atari clearly felt that the T3 license still had legs, and the publisher has shown its faith by bringing out Terminator 3: The Redemption for the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube.

But if long-term fun isn't what you're looking for, and a nice five to ten-hour jaunt through Los Angeles is just what your body needs, then you could certainly do a lot worse than Terminator 3. Quickly surmised, it's attractive, intense, and challenging, and for more dedicated gamers who looking to give their thumbs a workout despite a linear pathway, The Redemption is definitely worth a look.

Terminator 3's driving-based missions also take a rather prominent role in the action as well; and include a pleasantly fantasized physics engine that provides a strong sense of speed in addition to some truly killer jumping opportunities. Even better, is the sheer number of vehicles that players can take control of: be it a machinegun-converted pickup truck, a chopper style motorbike, a robot-controlled police car, or a state of the art laser tank, the choices at hand are pretty satisfying.

XboxIGN
Terminator 3's presentational aspects do a lot to make up for its lack of depth to a certain degree, though, as it's probably the most faithful Terminator game we've seen in terms of its accuracy to the source material. Much like Rise of the Machines, the game intercuts live action footage with rendered CG sequences to help tell its slightly different story. Arnold Schwarzenegger himself provides both his likeness and voice to the character of the T-800 as well (though at times, it sounds like a vocal double was brought in during some sequences -- weird), while other significant actors like Claire Daines, Nick Stahl, and Kristanna Loken all lend their faces to the same characters they portrayed on the silver screen.

Terminator 3: Redemption is an action trip worth taking if you love the third film. Speeding down the road, shooting every robot in sight, trying hard not to get terminated – there’s nothing like that. The game doesn’t perform all of its cool concepts as well as the technology allows, so this isn’t the kind of game you’ll write about in your video game journal (if you do that sort of thing). But like I said, if you love the film you’ll want to take the trip. Be safe and make it a short one by renting the game instead of shelling out the $40-$50 that most stores are charging.

Terminator 3: The Redemption is the type of game you and a friend will rent, get home with, open up, start playing and both say “This is awesome” simultaneously. Unfortunately a half hour later you will both want to play something else because your fun level has just plummeted nose first into the ground. I’m not saying this game isn’t fun. If you read the full review, you know I liked it plenty. Simply put, this game is so ridiculously difficult that it will make you cry and ask “why?” If you are an Arnold fan and you like the terminator series like I do, then you’ll love playing as the Governator.

Terminator 3: The Redemption is a decent action game where there's no need to worry about getting shot at (you're a bloody Terminator man!) and the game can easily be beaten in one weekend. This doesn't make it a bad game, nor a great game - it honestly falls somewhere in the middle.

While The Redemption is a redemption of sorts for Atari's Terminator games, its still not a very good game. Its the best Terminator game in a long time (nothing will ever top the arcade lightgun shooter), but when you compare it to Dawn of Fate and Rise of the Machines, is that really a huge accomplishment? Like any Terminator, Terminator 3: The Redemption takes a lot of hits and refuses to fall down. It starts off slow, gets better, but never becomes great. And its a sad day when the best part of your "game" is the CG and movie clips. They're getting closer, but a great Terminator game is still not here yet.

For those who want more than simply single-player arcade action, Redemption does feature a co-op mode. Within its confines you'll find ... two-player arcade action! The co-op levels are all rail shooters which cast players as the human freedom fighters trying to take down SkyNet and help Arnie. Players sit side by side in a vehicle, firing at everything that moves as the level pans across the screen. Well, at least the mode is consistent with the game. You'll wish you had a light gun.

If nothing else, this game certainly captures the dumb, single-minded spirit of the films. I'm not a fan of the series, but I did have fun with Redemption, despite its total lack of depth. For a while, that is. Playing levels several times over, like a kid retaking his driver's test, got old, since there just wasn't much variation once I'd explored the basics. Atari and Paradigm have put together a title that nails the tone of the source, without entirely capturing the appeal. And when that source is such disposable entertainment as The Terminator, where does that leave this second-generation replication?

What an apt title: After the dreadful Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Redemption salvages some of the franchise?s dignity with occasional arresting action sequences. But the enjoyment is only in fits?Redemption is prisoner to events from the movie and repetitive play mechanics.

When you really think about it, the Xbox is a lot like the Terminator. It's a hulking, advanced machine of brute force, with a devoted, sometimes embattled following, and it's come back in time to kill you. I'm serious -- have you every really read that license agreement? All jokes aside, the Xbox is a perfect home for Arnie's signature creation. Atari's been trying to get the license right for a while now, and though Terminator 3: The Redemption doesn't entirely make good, it's at least got a few checkmarks in the right places.

T3: Redemption is basically an action game, and a pretty unfocussed one at that. You tromp through a series of linear scripted missions mindlessly blasting or beating the crap out of stuff, frequently commandeering vehicles as you travel from A to B. At first the game can be quite enjoyable, at least while the novelty factor is present, but in the first proper mission you will see almost everything that T3: Redemption has to offer.

It is great to see at least one respectable Terminator game. It is not the best game out there, but it is the best Terminator game the fans of the franchise have ever seen. Let’s hope the next one is even better.
