Description
Texas Hold 'em is the first Xbox Live poker game, based on the popular US Texas Hold 'em variant. It has both offline and online content. In singleplayer mode, you try your hand at specific challenges, tournaments and basic games, accompanied by achievements. There is also a help function available to learn the fundamentals.
In the online mode, you can join open-table games with up to eight players. All known actions are available through the interface. Your cash is saved at all times, both online and offline, but you can re-buy when you are out of money. There is no option to play for real cash, though. To avoid relying on careless all-ins all the time, waiting for a lucky break and starting over all the time, certain tables require a large amount of chips before you can join.
No (virtual) players are visible, the game is shown through a first-perspective with a camera that can be panned up and down. There are also various modes in multiplayer and you can create custom games.
For 48 hours after the release, the game was made available for free to all Xbox Live Gold and Silver members. After that, the game was available for 800 points on marketplace.
