Evil is in the land of Yamato. Zanshin, the horrible demon, is unleashed and seeks to destroy the land and to kill its inhabitants, commanding a horde of zombies and skeletons. Seven samurai warriors, all of them under your command, have to stop the demon.

Throne Of Darkness is an action-RPG very similar to Diablo. The combat is action-based: left-click to hit the enemy, right-click to use a spell. Unlike Diablo, it is a party-RPG and its events take place in Japan of the Middle Ages.

Throne of Darkness Windows The four active and three reserve samurai can be switched in and out on the fly by your daimyo (lord).
Throne of Darkness Windows The Priest can offer your unwanted magic items to the Gods to earn you extra spell points.
Throne of Darkness Windows Each of your seven samurai can develop 40 different spells suited to their role in the party.
Throne of Darkness Windows Each hero develops five primary statistics.

The title of the game is probably a homage to the movie "Kumonosu jo" (Throne of Blood) by the famous Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa.
