"TimeSplitters: Future Perfect" pode desapontar no que aparentemente é sua opção mais importante (a campanha para um jogador), mas a agilidade e variedade do multiplayer fazem dele uma excelente opção, especialmente para quem gosta do sistema de "Goldeneye". Sua simplicidade faz dele o jogo perfeito para quem busca diversão rápida e sem compromisso com os amigos.

XboxGame Chronicles
TimeSplitters has always been a huge hit with multiplayer fans and has never been known for their single-player game. Free Radical has gone the extra mile to enhance both the single and the multiplayer experience. Obviously, just by making this game playable online they have revitalized the franchise, but they have added so much more. And while the single-player campaign is still lacking, especially when compared to anything else out there, it is still a huge evolution from anything they have done in the past.

Ok, so I get a little geeked out over TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. It’s easy to see why though, and besides who really wants to run around as a marine who can’t even tape a flashlight to the bottom of his shotgun?

It’s good to know that there are still a few things you can count on in the gaming world. There will always be more Vietnam-based games. Superman games will always suck. And, any Time Splitters title is sure to be a solid FPS. But, to be perfectly honest, that’s not necessarily true of Time Splitters: Future Perfect- it goes far, far beyond solid, coming very close to perfection. Think of every thing a good FPS should have, double it, and add a great sense of humor, and you might have an idea of how good this game is. I had the pleasure of playing this game, and soon found it very hard to do anything else.

In summary, if you enjoy the finer things in life such as setting people on fire with flares or putting a nice, sturdy harpoon right through a zombie's rotting noggin, if you prefer your shooters with a dollop of the absurd, and if you get all tingly in embarrasing places over ludicrous amounts of unlockables, you'll definitely dig TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

XboxGame Freaks 365
When it comes down to it, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect stands well against nearly all other shooters available today on Xbox, and most definitely on GCN and PS2. The multi-player experience alone makes the game worth it, but the added features, such as the League, add to what amounts to a very long couple weeks of gameplay, possibly months. If you have an affixation with first-person shooters, Free Radical delivered a product worth buying.

As a complete product, Timesplitters: Future Perfect is the best FPS to be found on the PlayStation 2. Its massive amount of features, including maps, weapons and characters for every possible mood are sure to please any FPS junkie. That's not to say the game is perfect...there are some issues with brightness in some of the levels, and the single player campaign isn't especially deep, but considering the length and breadth of the multiplayer component, we're willing to forgive and forget. If you like console FPS games, there are few better than Timesplitters: Future Perfect.

PlayStation 2Daily Game
To pigeonhole TimeSplitters: Future Perfect as nothing more than a Halo knockoff with some juvenile humor is to the do game, and yourself, a disservice. T:FP is a lot more than that, with multiplayer options aplenty, user-generated downloadable content (maps) and a very solid online game. The single-player campaign may be short, but the Arcade and Challenge modes will keep you playing for hours as you try to unlock more of the hilariously cool characters from the game. This is a game well worth the price of admission.

XboxThe Next Level
When it comes down to it, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is brimming with personality, and that alone puts it above most of its peers. Although not so impressive by itself, the single player modes are complimented by a slew of unlockables and challenges, but still, TimeSplitters seems to have been made with the multiplayer gaming in mind. It's fun, nerve racking, and funny and it very may well take its place besides GoldenEye as the pinnacle of mindless multiplayer fun.

GameCubeThe Next Level
Even though the single player mission lasts only about ten hours, there are plenty of challenges and league matches to plow through, which unlock new weapons, cheats, and characters (over 150 in all, each with their own stats if you choose to play multiplayer with them on). And the mapmaker is the most impressive I've ever seen on a console, user-friendly yet full of potential, it even rivals some of the lower and middle-end mapmakers out on PC. Future Perfect is simply fantastic, where around each corner is a rousing surprise, and the story is successful where several others have failed. It is fortified with enough game modes so that it is fully prepared to endure the test of time.

If a game’s weight were based solely on the content that it delivered, attempting to remove TimeSplitters Future Perfect from retail shelves would result in your arms being ripped clean off and the game crashing through the floor. From its boisterously entertaining time-travelling story and array of uniquely crafted single-player challenges to its massive multiplayer offering and remarkable mapmaker program, not even a crane could lift this game.

As any sci-fi fan knows, when you start messing around with time, bad things happen. Unfortunately, those with plans for universal domination don't care about this, as the evil alien Timesplitters are back -- and using the power of time travel to try and eliminate humans from existence. Since you happen to be the only super solider within range of a working time machine when the main attack occurs, you are volunteered to venture forth through the ages and attempt to save humanity by preventing the war with the Timesplitters before it even starts.

It fell to me the task that I review The latest game from Electronic Arts And rate the entertainment it imparts. In Future Perfect for the PS2 The Timesplitters return in sequel new. It's predecessors never topped the charts, But struck a chord in me and won the hearts Of shooter fans who never better knew. (For there has been a dearth of FPS, No Haloes, no Lives-Halved on Sony's shores. Just why this is is anybody's guess, For both those games sold out at local stores.) And now that I've a handle on this thing, Let's check out EA's entrant to the ring.

PlayStation 2IGN
This time, Free Radical has also added a flurry of game modes, unlockable characters, and challenges into the mix, but the overall effect is something that feels less than inspired. The single-player campaign is simplistic, short, easier than normal, and the story shows marked signs of idea fatigue. The hefty multiplayer modes and the game's undeniably charming personality make up for these shortcomings, but one wonders if the series hasn't reached a creative stalemate, and if that old GoldenEye lineage of the Free Radical team is less of a blessing and more of a curse.

GameCubeIGN
While not reaching the same levels of marketing genius as Nintendo's Pokemon series, Free Radical's TimeSplitters franchise has garnered the independent developer quite a reputation with critics and gamers alike, while keeping the bacon coming home every other year since the series' inception. The TimeSplitters gig is an easy formula to keep going, when you think about it. It's constantly changing time periods, settings, enemies, and weapons, and it's all tied together with a loose story. In a way, Cortez is always on the run trying to collect them all, the time crystals, that is.

PlayStation 2GameZone
Simple and intuitive controls make Future Perfect an excellent pickup and party game. Its story mode may be rather short (somewhere in the range of seven to eight hours), but its lighthearted tale, amiable character, option for co-op, and downright amazing multiplayer make for a great deal of fun.

PlayStation 2PSX Extreme
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is a fun, accessible game that you'll certainly get your money's worth from. There are a ton of things to do, and completing the game 100% will take weeks, if not months. The online play is solid, but not spectacular, and the inclusion of bots allows people without broadband of friends to enjoy multi-player, which is a nice touch. The game's main flaw is that it's all over the place, and feels like it simply tries to do too much. If more time had been spent lengthening the game by providing more save points, adding more levels, and not tiresome wormholes where you replay the same sequence multiple times, it'd score a bit higher. But the bottom line is, if you're craving a good FPS, Future Perfect might be the perfect game for you, so give it a look.

GameCubeDeaf Gamers
TimeSplitters Future Perfect is very much in the same vein as the previous games in the series. The story mode (which is fairly short lived) is an improvement on the previous ones though and on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 you have the addition of online play. The GameCube version suffers from a lack of an online mode but with that said it's still an enjoyable game and if you're fortunate enough to have friends who want to play the game with you then split-screen gaming for up to 4 players is still an option. On the whole both versions are great games although you'll probably choose the PlayStation 2 or Xbox version, if you want to add longevity to the game by taking it online.

Time is flying. Summer is coming. All that warm air and fun in the sun has got to go. Save yourself from summer's torture and spend your days inside on the couch where you belong. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect may not be the Halo 2 competitor GameCube needs, but it's got just the right combination of single- and multiplayer goodness to drain the batteries in your WaveBird controllers.

GameCubeThe Video Game Critic
Some of the more interesting arenas include Venice, a disco, and a flying zeppelin. A nice "wide screen" option makes the most of the screen's real estate, and thanks to the option of adding computer "bots", the game plays a mean solo death match. As icing on the cake, Future Perfect even includes a "map maker" that lets you construct your own levels! First-person shooters don't tend to age well, but this would have to rank as one of its best on the GameCube.
82
GameCubeGame Over Online
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect isn't exactly a Game of the Year candidate, but it's a blast for a little while. After spending the few hours it takes to beat the single player game, it's easy to lose even more in the multitude of online and bot matches. Honestly, as far as FPS games on the GameCube go, it really doesn't get too much better than this. It's time to SPLIT!

XboxGameSpot
All in all, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect makes for good, meaningless fun. However, many of its modes don't feel complete. As consoles get more and more competent at handling the first-person shooter genre, TimeSplitters feels more and more like a relic from a bygone era. Although, a lot of credit is still due to the variety you'll find in Future Perfect, and fans of the series' mapmaker functionality will certainly enjoy diving right back into this feature and trading new maps online. So the formula might feel slightly dated when compared to the Xbox's best first-person shooters, but with significantly less competition for your online first-person shooter dollar on the PlayStation 2 side, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect will probably shine slightly brighter there.

The TimeSplitters series has, up to this point, been a bit of a missed opportunity. The games are first-person shooters that place an extreme emphasis on sheer variety and fast action. But until now, the series has been limited to four players, unless you've been lucky enough to live on a TimeSplitters 2-loving LAN. But with the third iteration, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, the series is finally making good on the great ideas that developer Free Radical had back in 2000. While it might not pull you away from some of the more engrossing action games out on the market, TimeSplitters' charm and "something for everybody" mentality means that you're almost certain to find something to like in Future Perfect.

Overall, Future Perfect doesn't break any new ground, and the few things it pulls from other big-name FPS aren't as well done as the games it takes from, but their inclusion is appreciated and could've been done a lot worse. Keep this in mind when considering a purchase. It is indeed more Timesplitters, and for every lackluster feature or addition, there's a great one to counter it. It's not a bad game, it's just nothing new or mind-blowing. It is, most certainly, still a truckload of fun. It's hard to say whether or not Future Perfect is better or worse than TS2, since they both have things going for it the other doesn't. So let's just leave it at the fact that the game isn't a disappointment. By going into Future Perfect with the right expectations, you'll enjoy it that much more.

XboxDefunct Games
The makers of this game, Free Radical, are made up of programmers that once worked on games like GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark, two games that are considered classics by many of today's gamers. The problem is that first person shooters have evolved considerably since the days of those Nintendo 64 titles; we live in a much different time where expectations are a lot higher. Had Future Perfect been released this two or three years ago it would have been considered a masterpiece, but in 2005 TimeSplitters just feels out of touch. Thankfully it has enough going for it to recommend it, but I'm hoping that future sequels will be more of a leap forward.

In the end, it's obvious Free Radical had fun crafting TimeSplitters: Future Perfect … and it shows. While the story mode is a bit lacking, it shines with all of the other styles of gameplay. There's a huge amount of challenges to face and secrets to unlock. With all the game has to offer, it's well worth the price of admission.

As the old saying goes, "third times a charm," and in the case of TimeSplitters Future Perfect, that old saying is spot on. With varied weapons, a quirky sense of humor, and a main character that could double as Vin Diesel, the latest incarnation of the game could be destined for greatness.

A notable arcade mode game has you race a cat round a track -- not a car-sized cat, but a house cat with wheels for paws. Rather than hearing an engine revving, you hear your prey purring at different pitches. Instead of a horn, the cat meows. It's definitely a bizarre mode, but it's strangely captivating. Free Radical has made certain, just as things start to get difficult, to inject the game with humor. At points the game is laugh-out-loud funny.

If you only own a GameCube, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is a good choice, but if you own multiple consoles and are at all interested in competitive play, this should be your last choice.

Moi j'y retourne.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect provides classic first-person gameplay with some entertaining twists. The Arcade and Challenge modes extend the life of the game somewhat, especially if you are new to first-person shooters. Vets, however, might find it hard to overlook the lacking A.I., inability to jump and brief Story. The future looks good, but far from perfect.

Visually, the game does an excellent job of separating the time periods as the levels share very little in the way of design and texture mapping. Whether it's an Irish castle, a runaway train reminiscent of those in Indiana Jones movies, or a Tron-inspired VR simulation, each of the 16 areas is quite distinct. In case you get bored, an included mapmaker lets you create your own levels and missions, which can then be shared online. Rounding out the package-and ensuring hours of replay value-is the Arcade and Challenge modes. In Arcade, you can face off against bots in any multiplayer mode, while the challenges can range from cat racing to decapitating zombie monkeys with a shotgun.

It's not easy being a stylish, slightly goofy shooter in a Halo world. But that hasn't stopped Free Radical, the developer of the TimeSplitters franchise, from further refining and tweaking the formula that's kept players coming back for multiple installments. The publishing reigns have passed from Eidos to EA, but Future Perfect is packed with the same trigger-happy, silly fun as its predecessors. But without a mature, cinematic storyline, can it possibly be worth a look? Fortunately, answering unnecessary questions is our forte.
