This adventure game is stunning, completely immersing you in its intriguing plot. The famed luxury liner is painstakingly recreated digitally, and you get to fully explore the ship as a British agent on a mission.

Playing Titanic is fun for a number of reasons. Based on 1912 materials and technology such as electricity and steam engines, Titanic's game puzzles integrate logically with the storyline. You get to defuse bombs, send and receive Morse Code on a functioning wireless telegraph, regulate the Titanic's massive engines, and interact with onboard characters who may lie or tell the truth. The game's twisting plots are both a challenge to solve and entertaining to play. Without a doubt, Titanic fully demonstrates all magic we've come to expect from CyberFlix. In short, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time is a showstopper -- dazzling, extraordinary edutainment at its very best.

I found Titanic to be a thoroughly enjoyable and and thought-provoking game. I would recommend it to anyone who is fascinated by the Titanic or into mystery solving. Intrigue abounds here, and just when you think you know what to do next, something else pops up. I give Titanic: Adventure Out of Time a score of 93 -- subtracting a few points for frequent disc switching and the sometimes strange character animations.

Titanic is a very well crafted adventure game with a complex, engaging plot. It also offers a visually stunning, accurate recreation of the famous (or should I say infamous?) ocean liner. The puzzles may not be particularly hard, but the game gives you so many different things to do that the puzzles never take center stage. Besides, any game that, like Titanic, actually mentions my hometown (Krakow, Poland) and calls it charming is bound to get thumbs-up from me. Still, personal biases aside, Titanic is a worthy successor of Dust and one of the better adventure games of 1996.

But this game has another interesting twist. You can choose, instead of playing the game, to explore the ship in tour mode. Several characters in the game appear as tour guides, relating facts on the Titanic itself or areas of the ship. This second program ensures you will never grow tired of the CD-ROM. Even after you solve the game, you can explore the old ship to your heart's content from the bridge to the bowels. The graphics of the game are superb, evoking the richness of the original Titanic so much that you feel you are actually on the ship.

Titanic is so far the best of its class. However, I don't grade based on the curve of a single genre. The most limiting factor was how quickly it took for me to get to the end of the game, about 20 hours of playing time. Also, the frantic last portion of the game was supposed to be "realtime" but was still event-based, which didn't seem fair or quite as fun as it should have been. I really feel that Titanic is finally an indication of the potential for first-person perspective adventures. I just hope that the others can tap into equally involving scenarios.

Titanic: Adventure Out of Time is a very interesting game. It combines historically accurate background with a completely fantastic story of time travel and changing history (personally I have a suspicion that changing history might not be so simple as this game makes it sound). Sort of a really grand what-if adventure. The reconstruction of R.M.S. Titanic is quite amazing and greatly adds to the atmosphere of Titanic. Fans of espionage and history should especially like this game.

For anyone interested in the Titanic disaster I'm sure this game is a 'must play'. And if you don't know much about it then why not take the cruise anyway? You'll learn some interesting facts about this magnificent ship and you can even learn to distinguish between the pointy and the blunt ends along the way. It's good fun (for want of a better word) so try your luck and see if you can halt Hitler in his tracks and maybe prevent World War II or perhaps even stop the Russian Revolution. What a shame the designers missed a golden opportunity to allow for a genderless character in this adventure instead of stamping the main protagonist as male. It would have been so easy, and then all game players could have shared equally in the fun of stepping into the shoes of the character.

Bon voyage!

Engrossing subplots, fascinating exploration of the ship, some overly simple puzzles but all in all First class entertainment.

Aside from the weak plot and cast of silly characters, this title deserves a look at. As a game it offers very, very little, however, as a historical reproduction of the most legendary cruise ship that sank in the seven seas, this a triumph. This game appeals to a highly limited audience, and is primarily recommended to ye Titanic aficionados who want a great historic walk through the annals of ship and legend. To these people the 'game' will be a bonus.

Is Titanic a good game? Yes and no. Yes, there is an interesting story, a visually sumptuous and often thrilling re-creation of the ship, and much to do and see. But a disproportionate amount of time is taken up watching twitchy talking heads natter endlessly. How much you enjoy it will depend on how much you like interactive dialog. I was willing to go along with CyberFlix on this journey because they had a worthwhile tale to tell, but it certainly tried my patience at times.

Newcomers may have a good time, and Titanic buffs may enjoy the factoid-spouting “tours” included on the CD-ROM, but experienced gamers are bound to be frustrated by TITANIC's lack of challenge and the way it shortchanges its lively characters and plot.

Falls Sie The Last Express mochten, könnte Titanic dennoch etwas für Sie sein.
