The game was originally released for the Wii U as Toki Tori 2
. The later released PC version is called Toki Tori 2+
and introduced a number of changes for gameplay, presentation and new puzzles. Examples include molehill travelling, more hints in the environment, route marking, improved graphics, Miiverse drawings (Wii U version only) and additional disco tracks. It also has a level editor tied to the Steam workshop. The Wii U version could be upgraded for free to the updated Toki Tori +2
version and from then on the original Toki Tori 2
Wii U version was also no longer available. Although initially announced, the Wii U version does not incorporate the level editor. Technical difficulties made it impossible to integrate it properly and levels shared between platforms also led to a dead end. To apologize, all owners of the Wii U version were offered a free Steam key for the PC version.
