As a real-time strategy game, EndWar is an intimate and deeply nuanced experience. The variety in the three factions with their unique unit upgrades and the tactics that go with them (garrisoned snipers are incredibly effective once you've earned the ranks to get them) promise extended replayability. The voice command system is the biggest technological breakthrough in EndWar, but it's important to note that you can play the entire game without ever using voice command and it is every bit as solid an RTS. Selecting and grouping units is a snap and that means that you are free to focus on directing your forces rather than managing the minutiae. By virtually any measure we can think of, EndWar wins.

EndWar represents something totally new and unique in the world of console RTS gaming. The voice technology implemented in the title provides an immersive experience that will allow players to concentrate on their gameplay strategy rather than worrying about fiddling with a difficult UI interface. The gameplay itself won’t appeal to everyone. Like any genre there will be hardcore fans as well as those who would rather be shooting folks up in an FPS. The thing is, though in terms of FPS’s there are a multitude of choices. Console RTS choices on the other hand are extremely limited. And Tom Clancy’s EndWar, as an example of the RTS genre on a console, we believe that it has never been done better or implemented so slickly. Put very simply, EndWar is a must buy for any console owner that has been waiting for a console war game done right.

Endwar is a lesson to all, then. You can make a strategy game work on a console; you just have to speed it up, dumb it down, and somehow keep it smart. Rather them than us. PC RTS fanatics may scoff at a perceived lack of depth, but Endwar is the first sign that console strategy developers are learning what shooter devs figured out many years ago - to make strategy games work on a console, you first have to rethink strategy games from the ground up.

EndWar is a polished, innovative game that does a great job pairing its impressive voice command feature with a focused, fast-paced design. It doesn't flat-out require that you talk to your game system, but it does reward you for trying out a new way to play. The game essentially plays the same whether online or not, but the number of strategies and counter-strategies gives the game legs. EndWar is console strategy done uniquely, and done right.

Endwar is definitely a very exciting title to play regardless if you decide to take full advantage of the voice control or stick to the more conservative way of commanding troops. It's a fast paced strategy game that succeeds in diverting the attention from the shallow storyline and repetitive missions and makes the entire gaming experience enjoyable, especially in multiplayer. Unfortunately the differences between the three rival factions are negligible and it's not very much left to discover once you complete the campaign with one nation.

The normal map that most RTS fans will be looking for is available for use, but hidden behind the more entertaining default camera view. This decision by the developers, to focus on action over boredom, will help EndWar interest a more broad type of gamer. The entire presentation (audio, menus, etc.) of the title was just really well done, brining us into the world of Tom Clancy and forcing us to play just one more game; or conquer one more spot in the Theater of War. Considering how many insanely great Xbox 360 games are coming out this winter we can only hope that the quality RTS game that is EndWar won’t get overlooked.

With a completely new way to play a Real Time Strategy game and some excellent multiplayer gaming this is one game that is a must buy for strategy fans of any type. If it was not for a few minor issues with the game such as nothing south of the equator and a lack of a cool looking single player campaign presentation wise (it is a great campaign to play though) this would be one of the top 10 played games on Xbox Live for many months.

Xbox 360Good Game
I think up until this late stage of the game, the main concern was how well the voice recognition would work. It works beautifully, the game is great fun. I probably won't play it forever, but I'm lovin it now. 8.5.

Ubisoft has single-handedly blasted every stereotype about strategy games on a console. EndWar is fun, fast-paced and will likely swoon even a few jaded shooter fans to the RTS fold.

PlayStation 3Game Chronicles
EndWar is definitely a game that Ubisoft’s military simulation fans need to look at, as it is a natural extension of the gameplay that you (we) hold so dear. But EndWar is not for the faint of heart, and will ultimately only appeal to select console gamers.

Xbox 360Gameplanet
Overall EndWar is an excellent RTS. The emphasis is strongly on tactics and the right unit for the job. The graphics are great and the units are responsive and act very realistically. The voice commands are well implemented and accelerate the response times for your units considerably, because the faster you can give them a command the sooner they can enact it, and it is important to get a good handle on these commands. Ultimately if you are an RTS fan you will almost definitely enjoy EndWar.

Xbox 360Daily Game
But even without playing online -- a venture that will likely be a bit off-putting for all but the most hardcore RTS fans anyway -- Tom Clancy's EndWar is a groundbreaking game. Not only is the Voice Command an innovative way to make real-time strategy games work on a console, but it works so flawlessly that it's hard to go back to mouse-and-keyboard gaming after playing EndWar. What EndWar is missing in big-time RTS depth, it more than makes up for with novelty and flat-out fun. The story could have used a bit more connection between missions, and there could have been more differentiation between the factions' abilities and play strategies, but neither of those takes away from the core gameplay. If you own a PS3 or Xbox 360 and have been cautiously optimistic about the RTS genre, Tom Clancy's EndWar is worth your time. EndWar truly is the first game to do "console RTS" right, and it may just revolutionize the RTS genre in the process.

Xbox 360Worth Playing
Tom Clancy's EndWar is partially a game and partially a tech demonstration. As a tech demonstration, it works pretty great. I had only a minimal number of technical problems with the headset, and a lot of them were my own fault. With that said, I have a rather generic voice, and I can't promise that this will hold true for anything with an accent, so please try the demo before you buy. As a game, it is rather fun, although a bit simplistic, and its real strength lies in its online, not offline play. The persistent online EndWar will keep players busy for much longer than the single-player campaign, and the fun of trying to stop a Russian invasion or to take over Washington, D.C., is significantly higher when you know that the enemy commander who you just stomped is a real person. While EndWar could also be fun for offline play, this is certainly a game you'll want to pick up for its online component.

EndWar gives us a wonderfully fresh look at the future of the RTS genre. The Voice Recognition System works exceptionally well with a few hiccups here and there. It takes some time to get used to executing commands, but once it is learned, battles will become easier to manage as you learn the ins and outs of the game. There are some minor problems when it comes to the overall AI of certain commands given and no local multiplayer is a little bit of a disappointment, but understandable with the VRS and having more than one person in battle. Ultimately, the Tom Clancy series gets another solid title under its belt. If you have ever tried out an RTS or are looking at getting into the field of battle for the first time, pick up EndWar. You will not be disappointed.

This is a solid RTS experience that will definitely appeal to newcomers to the fold. Battle-hardened veterans may find this a little too simplistic in design but kudos have to go to the development team for creating a solid title that is entertaining and brings something new to the genre.

Thanks to Tom Clancy’s EndWar, strategy gaming is now a viable console option. Of course EndWar still has some freshman jitters to work through (mainly the way in which the battlefield is represented visually), but it’s still worth at the very least a rental, if nothing else but to experience the voice recognition system. Tom Clancy’s EndWar is also worth a play for those that have written the console RTS off, or those that want to get the general gist of this misunderstood genre without having to plunk down cash for a PC title.

Overall, Tom Clancy's End War delivers a solid gaming experience even to those who are not so much fans of the real time strategy games. Real time strategy players will find plenty to love in this game and as I have stated several times the voice system works extremely well and adds even more value to the gameplay. The graphics are good and the sounds are what is to be expected. The online persistent war is a definite high mark in my book and adds plenty of replay value to the game.

I feel like we've got 2 conflicting laws of science here...RTS doesn't work on a console, but Tom Clancy games are always well produced...and I almost feel like a fool for being so sceptical...It's a very simple, very stylised RTS that works on a console. 8 from me.

Having only two winning conditions tends to get repetitive after a while and it is probably the game’s only real weakness. I experienced some feeling of deja-vu because of a limited number of maps. The overall campaign map is divided into sectors, each offering only a single map to play on. Sectors are heavily contended, causing you to return to some maps numerous times either to conquer or defend it.

If you're looking for a good real-time strategy game, EndWar should fit your bill. It's got a fairly lengthy single-player campaign, despite having an absolutely hollow story, and it's also got a pretty epic online mode. On the technical side of things, it may not be a looker, but the voice recognition system works well, and the audio sounds great. For the sequel, if Ubisoft could put together a slightly more user friendly interface, we should have a real winner on our hands. In the meantime, give EndWar a look, at the very least rent it to see if it's for you. This one does come recommended.

The accessibility and relative depth of EndWar is good news for those out there that have looked at the real-time strategy genre with a skeptical or confused eye in the past. If you haven't played an RTS before, this is a good place to start. Those who are old-hats might find some things lacking such as the uninspired single-player campaign and the fact that there isn't much noticeable variety between the three factions. The lack of pizzazz, unfortunately, won't do anything for either camp.

EndWar is a solid entry to the RTS genre, with innovative controls that spell good things for the genre as a whole, if other titles can step up to the plate and take advantage of the game’s voice activated elements. While the game falls short within the campaign and some elements are overly simplistic, there’s still a lot here that strat-fans will want to check out.

Tom Clancy's EndWar is a solid RTS that fans of the genre shouldn't miss. The new voice command system works flawlessly, and players should find it to be a mighty rewarding experience. Still, gamers who aren't into strategic war-games will likely find the title to be dull. As such, it's not a must-buy across the board. Nevertheless, it is a noble effort by Ubisoft Shanghai, and one that will doubtless lead to the birth of a strong strategy franchise for the future.

Real-time strategy often emphasizes the details at the expense of a thrilling, engaging experience. EndWar seeks to turn that equation upside-down, and often succeeds. From the integrated, Ghost Recon-style info on your HUD to the third-person camera and voice command system, everything is designed to keep you right in the game with the squads on the front line. The strategy pays off, making EndWar a unique and challenging new weapon in the Tom Clancy arsenal.

EndWar is a real glimpse into the future of RTS titles on console, with an immersive experience thanks unquestionably to the voice command system. It's far from the deepest RTS on offer however, which may put off veterans of the genre, but for players that don't mind talking to themselves, EndWar is more than a worthwhile experience.

EndWar's unique voice command mechanic makes it wholly unique among strategy games, and it's this innovation that stands out above all of its other features. Strip it away, and you'll find a RTS game that can be fun and satisfying, but is ultimately just a bit too simplistic. But even if strategy veterans won't find all the complexities they'd expect, there's something to be said for EndWar's smart match types and cinematic presentation, which will hopefully keep the game's servers populated for some time to come.

WindowsIGN
While EndWar seemed fairly advanced for a console game, it's easily lost in the crowded and competitive RTS field found on the PC. This is also a game that revolves around its voice command system, which is necessary for a console game but relatively worthless on the PC. For PC gamers accustomed to faster, deeper, and more exciting RTS games, EndWar will seem like a voice in the wilderness.

Chętnych do wzięcia udziału w III wojnie światowej - czy to samotnego, czy też wieloosobowego - zapraszam do o wiele lepszego „World in Conflict”.

When I saw EndWar demonstrated at E3 2008 and got some hands-on play at Ubisoft’s holiday release party, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the full version, and, for the first few hours, the amazing voice-control system, the great-looking graphics and ever-advancing campaign story had me hooked like I thought I would be. Unfortunately, however, a crippling lack of gameplay variety and a tragically limited global multiplayer mode brought me back to reality. I look forward to a future game in which this control technology is combined with a smart and diverse storyline to create a deep and fascinating experience, but EndWar is not that game.
