This was the first game published by Red Storm Entertainment, and was also the first Java-based game created by a major publisher.
Tom Clancy's Politika received a 40% rating from PC Gamer magazine (May 1998; reviewed by William R. Trotter).
Politika came with a free copy of the paperback "Tom Clancy's Power Plays: Politika" which had a $7.50 retail price. The game itself did poorly in stores and soon could be found (book and all) in bargain bins for under $5.
This is actually a computer adaptation of the boardgame (also from Red Storm) of the same name.
