In closing out Rainbow Six: Vegas really is a superb game to play from all angles, providing excitement and good fun to be had by all. I would even go to say that RS: V is a better overall package of a game when compared to Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and if you have not purchased RS: V yet… then it really is about bloody time you did.

It would have been incredibly easy for me to stop playing Rainbow Six: Vegas. I could have uninstalled it and never bothered with it again. But I’m glad I didn’t. Rainbow Six Vegas has landed itself in the rare category of one of the best games that I’ve ever played. The final level of the game is essentially a massive firefight through the Hoover Dam and it was arguably one of the best experiences I’ve had in video gaming. While it isn’t without faults, Rainbow Six Vegas is a finely tuned shooter and I cannot wait for the next game in the series.

Rainbow Six Vegas is one of the best games available this holiday season. If you're a fan of the franchise, genre, or good games, you owe it to yourself to pick this game up. The gameplay mechanics are refined to the point of perfection and the presentation is stellar. Besides the inclusion of the new maps and multiplayer modes (available on the Xbox 360 as downloadable content), both versions are identical.

Since Ubisoft brilliantly recreated the Ghost Recon experience with GRAW, my expectations as an avid Rainbow Sixer for the series’ first Xbox 360 title were sky high. After seeing the gorgeously rendered Vegas strip from a helicopter, rappelling through casino windows with guns blazing, and exchanging lead volleys across a row of slot machines, it’s hard to say that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas didn’t match or exceed all of those expectations.

After a shocking descent into mediocrity following the third iteration in the franchise, Ubisoft Montreal has successfully breathed new life into the Rainbow Six franchise with Rainbow Six Vegas – a game that could essentially be considered the next-gen reincarnation of the much beloved Rainbow Six 3. The single-player campaign is the best of any Rainbow Six title, and the ability to play through it with four friends only sweetens the experience. Furthermore, the addition of an elegant new over system has completely changed the face of tactical combat, while the streamlined squad-mechanics are accessible enough to bring in new players, while still providing more than enough depth to allow veterans to dominate the battlefield. A wealth of addictive multiplayer modes that force players to think tactically and coordinate their maneuvers ensure that Rainbow Six Vegas will sit close to the top of the Xbox Live charts for quite some time.

Rainbow Six Vegas jest świetnym tytułem, niestety, można go polecić jedynie osobom z w miarę mocnym sprzętem.

In conclusion, this is a great game. It is the kind of game that the PS3 has needed. The addition of a bulked up multiplayer on the PS3 makes this the best version of the game you can buy. The controls and the sound effects are perfect. Unfortunately, the graphics are the weak link. Ubisoft didn't take the time to revamp the look for the high-powered PS3, and that was a mistake from the consumer's perspective. If you already own the game on the PC or the 360, this is not a must buy. This is due primarily to the non-revamped graphics. However, if you like shooters and using your noggin, this game cannot be passed up. It is genuinely a good game. It exudes quality and it will greatly increase the amount of hours you will log on your PS3.

Rainbow Six: Vegas came to the market somewhat under the radar. I haven't seen it on any of the "2007 most anticipated" lists, and it hasn't generated a lot of hype, so allow me to generate some: It rocks! If you have the computing muscle to run this game in all its glory, Vegas is a must-buy. Even if you don't have a top-of-the-line gaming rig, this is a superb title that is so good (even on medium detail settings) that you just might postpone that eBay sale so that you can play it through a second time.

For anyone holding out to play the PlayStation 3 version of Rainbow Six: Vegas, the wait has certainly yielded the most generous version of the game so far. It's a substantial and feature-packed game: It includes all the features of the 360 version (bar the Vision Cam face-mapping technology) and the recently released Player's Pack Red Edition, new multiplayer maps, and some extra tweaks like using the Sixaxis to control the under-the-door snake camera.

Rainbow Six Vegas breaks the rules for the series and rewrites them for a new age, which is fitting, as this is the first Rainbow Six game for the Xbox 360. And thankfully, Rainbow Six Vegas ignores the city's official motto; if everything that happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas, then we might have been deprived of this excellent, immersive tactical shooter.

Overall, there is very little wrong with this game. If there is one 'problem' it could be the learning curve for new player. Veterans of the Rainbow Six series should have no problem getting into the swing of things but newcomers to the series might be turned off from the moderate learning curve. From the great single player campaign the wide variety of multiplayer options, you should find every dollar you spend on this game well worth it, and then some. This is the best Rainbow Six game ever made. On top of that, this is one of the best 360 games to date. Only problem I see, where do you take the series after it's been to Vegas?

Vegas is a good game, it’s certainly the best console iteration of the Rainbow series to date and it sets a bench mark for tactical cover that even Gears of War failed to do. This is (pay attention Gears fanboys – ME included) how cover should have been done in the game. The control system is tight and the AI is top notch, you can blast the story apart in a couple of days of good play and it’s not particularly great storytelling. It rapidly dips into the go there, blow these guys up, rescue these people and save the day scenario. But frankly, when you’re having as much fun as this you don’t care. The same can be said again about the cut-down MP graphics for split and online play, you don’t really pay attention to those things when there are smoke grenades, c4 and frags as well as 15 other players attempting to outflank you and out shoot you at every turn.

While it's taken a while to arrive, PS3 owners shouldn't pass up the chance to play Rainbow Six Vegas. The number of options you have on how to tackle each situation makes for some great unscripted moments, and the visuals and sound help create an atmosphere that wouldn't be possible on older hardware. The additional multiplayer maps and modes also help make up for this PS3 version suffering slightly visually in comparison to the 360.

Even with a little nitpicking, it's hard not to consider Rainbow Six Vegas a huge success. As someone who played the original Red Storm games back when they were self-publishing, and spent way too much time with some LAN games with friends, both the single and multiplayer portions of Vegas trounce anything Ubisoft's dev teams have done thus far. They really have stepped it up, and I can only hope the PS3 version of the game will have the kind of longevity that the 360 version has experienced. It certainly deserves it.

All in all, Rainbow Six Vegas is an excellent tactical simulator, one that does provide some good replay in forcing you to play at near perfection (on the highest difficulty) and with some patience in order to succeed. Definitely recommended for the serious gamer looking for a challenge.

Ubisoft clearly listened to gamers' disappointment in Lockdown, upping the ante and delivering the best game in the franchise. The story is compelling, the additional gameplay mechanics and improved AI are great, and Attack and Defend mode is certainly something to be proud. But most importantly to gamers: Rainbow Six Vegas is pure fun.

Rainbow Six Vegas is, perhaps as expected, a highly accomplished and wildly entertaining title, one that should offer anyone many hours of fun. The single-player campaign is both challenging and satisfying, the online multiplayer is fast and furious (fans of Resistance: Fall of Man should give it a try, even though it's slightly more sensitive due to its pseudo-sim nature), and it looks and sounds exactly the way it should. A few small errors here and there don't override the excellent control, and while we weren't blown away by the gameplay, the fact remains- we had a blast playing it. If you were hoping for something good out of Vegas, for the most part, your hopes have been fully realized.

While I still reminisce about the early days of Rainbow Six and planning my ultimate strategies through foreign embassies, not all gamers have the patience or desire for such intricacies. I’ve come to realize I will probably never see a game like the original Rainbow Six again, and the series has definitely taken a steep spiral into mediocrity over the past few years, but if Vegas is any indication of where the franchise is headed, I’ll certainly be looking forward to the next installment.

Endlich!

There are a few moments that seem to lack a bit of intellect, most noticeably when having to protect a member of staff while they are performing a task when surely they would fire back rather than stand there asking for a bullet to the head. Minor niggles come in the form of annoying music throughout the casino environments and the squad wouldn't be complete without the token English "bloke" with the 'alright guv'nor' accent, he could give Don Cheadle a run for his money in Ocean's Eleven he is that good. Vegas is a superior, action-packed tactical shooter with endless battles; in the closing credits a newsreader states a rough 600 body count, this is probably accurate and while your squad will have to take a lot of credit this does not mean that you'll not get your fair share of kills. To conclude, many bad things have happened in Vegas. Most noticeably perhaps when the cast and crew of Showgirls turned up, if only Rainbow Six had been around, what a better place the world might be.

PlayStation 3IGN
Though a took a while for it to get to the PlayStation 3, Rainbow Six: Vegas is a great shooter and should be picked up by anyone who's even remotely into tactical shooters. The series' strength has always been its online play, but Vegas manages to bring an engaging single-player experience to the table as well. With a total of 20 multiplayer maps, the ability to play through the whole game cooperatively online, terrorist hunt and the single-player missions, there's a whole lot to this package and it shouldn't be passed up.

PlayStation 3Video Game Generation
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas is a nice revamp of a series that was in desperate need of an overhaul. The Vegas setting is surprisingly effective, the gameplay is as compelling as it has ever been (though not as strategic or deep as the original PC titles), and the online experience continues to be refined. There’s still work to be done before this series approaches the level of polish it did with Rainbow Six 3 on Xbox, but the team at Ubisoft is well on its way to reaching that plateau once again.

Niche fans are likely going to be pretty pissed about Rainbow Six: Vegas because it's definitely not the Rainbow Six that was. Does that mean it's a bad game? No, not at all. It's just way different than it used to be. Are we sad about the change in the PC version? Very. But even through the tears it's pretty clear that Rainbow Six: Vegas is an accomplished action shooter. It's packed with gunfights, full of excitement, looks good, and provides plenty of mindless entertainment. If only the framerate was steady and multiplayer stable we'd be much happier.

Rainbow Six: Vegas represents a pleasant surprise, despite the fact that it didn't bothered to dress up in a somewhat better optimization coat. The problem got extended for some time now, and it doesn't surprise us anymore. But it's definitely not an excuse for keeping the bar lowered to a level accessible for almost every game developer out there. The future sounds good, one sees it rather blurry, and plays it half-heartedly.

The controls are simple, the graphics pretty, and the game fluffy enough to forgive its essential repetitiveness. The pretences of tactical play break down in the available online multiplayer modes, where running around becomes the order of the day once again, but single player is where the heart of the game lies.

Ubisoft invites gamers on a trip to beautiful Las Vegas in its PlayStation 3 shooter, Rainbow Six Vegas, except instead of showering them with poker chips, cheap drinks and prostitutes, it plunges them into a war zone full of slimy terrorists. Numerous firefights ensue, with players moving through casinos, capping bad guys and blowing up slot machines.

Although it has all the markings of a next generation title, in some ways Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas is much more of an old-fashioned game. It may not have the best graphics or story, but it's still great because it shines in the area it really cares about - tactical realism. Its action is so good that it'll have you sweating like you're wearing one of Elvis' cat-suits in the midday Nevada sun. Unlike the King, however, Team Rainbow hasn't left the building and, hopefully, they're warming up for an encore at this very moment.

Rainbow Six Vegas isn’t all roses but it’s not all thorns either. I guess you could say it’s mostly rosy all around. There are various glitches in the game, and some of those could give an unfair advantage to players in multiplayer (like entering a vending machine and becoming invincible while able to shoot others). And while most of the levels do have one glitch or other, they’re nowhere near as serious as that one. But that’s mostly nitpicking on a game that has a lot going for it. Rainbow Six Vegas more than makes up for it with its commendable level design, great team mechanics, and varied assortment of weapons/accessories and armour. It’s not for everyone, but it’s certainly a worthwhile addition to ones PS3 library.

The PlayStation 3 version of Rainbow 6 Vegas may be coming out a little bit later but thankfully the game is just as appealing now as it was last year. The PlayStation 3 version doesn't include the face mapping feature of the Xbox 360 edition and the graphics are a little bit less impressive but with a brilliant cover system and unprecedented multiplayer options Rainbow 6 Vegas sets a new benchmark for first person tactical shooters.

All in all, Rainbow Six: Vegas is a great example of how amazing a game can be on the new Unreal 3 engine. It combines amazing graphics with great AI and intense, complex gunfights. The story is kind of generic (Terrorists are going to blow stuff up), but it brings you to great locales such as Mexico, Las Vegas, and the Nevada Dam. The game is dissapointingly short (ends with “to be continued” – LAME), but multiplayer brings a great selection of co-op and deathmatch options worth checking out.

The PlayStation 3 Vegas is a decent port of a great game. For old-timers pining for the nerve-wracking days of one-shot kills, Vegas won’t do much. For those who have followed the series or are new to it, you will be treated to a fantastic title that sports a few rough edges alongside its neon lights and maniacal terrorists. In the end, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas is a standout title in the paltry PS3 library and a must for first-person shooter fans.

Those who love big action in their single-player shooters won't find it in a game that pushes making split-second tactical decisions over and over. Yet, gamers who enjoy playing online will find nothing but gold between customizable avatars and numerous game modes. Depending on your play style, this is where Rainbow Six Vegas will either bust or take home the jackpot.

All in all though it has the same hardcore SP that the 360 version offers, with the same great enemy AI and the intense shoot outs that we've come to know and love from the game. There's no difference in the missions and if you own both systems you're best off getting the 360 version for reasons that will become all too clear in a few paragraphs as I delved into the online MP aspect of the game.

The Playstation 3 version of Rainbow Six: Vegas gets another highly recommended score from Extreme Gamer. This time around, it’s with a direct call for gamers who haven’t experienced Ubisoft high roller on another system. Given its easy to hook up online multiplayer aspects and solid single player mission, Rainbow Six: Vegas holds up as one of the systems best shooters. It might have taken a while to arrive, but for those who have waited it out, you won’t be disappointed. Join the terrorist hunt, online, offline, or in co-op play, Rainbow Six: Vegas stakes are high.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is a shift in direction for the franchise, but most of the changes are welcome. The game successfully ramps up the excitement without sacrificing too much tactical strategy. Old-school die-hards may miss the preplanning, but we guarantee they’ll still have fun.

Rainbow Six Vegas turns back the page and makes up for the black sheep of the series from last year, Rainbow Six Lockdown. Although, I'm still a fan the older, broken up styled gameplay, Rainbow Six Vegas tries to capitalize on G.R.A.W.'s success and made Vegas a continues mission. This sucks a little life out of Rainbows epic and international feeling, but it does make for a more concentrated storyline. Besides favoritism towards the Raven Shield, Rainbow Six Vegas has a host of new features and an updated team structure that all are welcomed changes. Include some amazing fun multiplayer with co-op added and Rainbow Six Vegas becomes a game that is hard to resist. Rainbow Six Vegas is sure to be a favorite for a lot of gamers for months to come. I highly recommend Rainbow Six Vegas for any gamer who loves to get behind the gun for the sheer joy of wasting some tango's. Rainbow Six Vegas might not be the crown jewel of the series, but it's still one of the year's best shooters.

All in all, Rainbow Six: Vegas, despite some AI issues in places, offers some of the best single-player gaming currently on the Xbox 360. At turns thrilling and ultra-cool, double-tapping hostiles in the head while dangling upside down from a rope is as satisfying as you'd imagine it to be. While the multi-player side of the game is fully-fledged and has a nice rank system, the community I experienced was absolutely dire. With only 10% of my games fun, I'd be wary of online games unless you can put up with more than I. Despite this, if you're a fan of military themed shooters, you should definitely pick up Vegas.

Long-term fans should (happily) note that Ubisoft Montreal is back on the Rainbow Six series. After producing the definitive experience with Rainbow Six 3 (and missing last year's lackluster Rainbow Six Lockdown completely), the team's direction with Vegas is admirable. While it doesn't elevate Rainbow Six back to the genre-defining franchise it once was, it's still a solid, fun game& plus, thanks to Unreal Engine 3, it looks great. Here's hoping some of the more egregious bugs get ironed out soon.

It's safe to say that while Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas is pretty much an instant classic on the Xbox 360, it's dragged down by detail after important detail on the PS3. It's got the same core single-player experience that we enjoyed on the Xbox 360, albeit minus rumble and some of the polish of the 360 game's visuals. Also, the gameplay feels as though it has mapped exceptionally well to the PS3's controller, unlike many other ports for the console. However, Rainbow Six has traditionally been a multiplayer-focused franchise, and it's here that the game disappoints. From headset glitches to lag to the lack of personalization, Vegas feels like a big letdown on PS3. If you're not into terrorist-hunting online with friends, nor is Canister up your alley, then you'll probably feel at home with the single-player campaign. We hope that subsequent installments show us better days for Team Rainbow on the PS3.

Xbox 360Christ Centered Game Reviews
Ubisoft Montreal packed every square inch of Rainbow Six Vegas full of exciting and explosive content. Gone are the days of 10-20 minute long strategic planning sessions as consistently intense action has taken it's place. Gone are the muddy and bland textures and in are the bright and expansive sights of Vegas. Gone is the lack of storyline and in is...Well, at least an attempt at a plot. Which is smartly told in-game, and not broken up through cut scenes. I won't go into much detail, but it's safe to say that the plot includes political turmoil, twists, and, of course, terrorism (although how they snuck thousands of terrorists with unlimited ammunition into Las Vegas was oddly left out). Needless to say, it's your typical Tom Clancy storyline, but, unless I'm mistaken, people don't buy Tom Clancy games to become emotionally engaged in the story, so I won't waste any more time on it.

All in all, though, the game is good fun and is certainly worth a play if you’re a shooter fan. It’s a big step up from the recent Rainbow Six releases (I thought that the franchise would be ended after their poor performances). If you’re going to invest in one shooter then go for Gears of War, but if you need something else then definitely give Vegas a look.

It feels like an undecided halfway house between two genres - both of which the PC excels at - and it's incapable of deciding which one it wants to be. Elements of the old games stand proud, like an enormous inventory of weapons with which you can equip yourself, in massive detail. Except you often get to browse this enormous array of weapons in crates slapped in the middle of levels, as though SWAT armouries are as common as slot machines in Vegas. You have better-than-ever room-clearing skills with your team... but the vast majority of confrontations are just working through relatively open environments. If you want an atmospheric tactical shooter, SWAT 4 walks over this. If you want an actual shooter then... oh, this is the PC. Take your pick.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is not as bad as 'Lockdown', but it is hardly a return to form. The single player is pretty terrible, following the same generic pattern throughout... a quiet few rooms, massive shootout, checkpoint, ad nauseum. It is frustrating and unrealistic in many aspects. The multiplayer is no better. Even after the patch, it is plagued by glitches, boosters and hosts who kick you unrepentantly. What is worse is the fact that the experience is incredibly un-tactical. "Gears of War", a way more arcadey game, provides a far more tactical experience. Ghost Recon, for all its flaws, remains a far better bet for anyone wanting a tactical shooter. Here at PlayDevil we are not sure we're reviewing the same game that others did, but Vegas for us has been a frustrating experience, even after the patch that has been released. It looks and sounds great, and offers moments of real promise, but the annoyances and glitches stop it scoring higher.

The single-player mode is playable enough - if you're up for the challenge. I like how an objective marker always points the way, and displays the distance to your target in meters. The AI is pretty mediocre though, and when you shoot an enemy, it's not uncommon for another to immediately assume the same exact position. Sometimes you'll pick off three or four guys in a row by firing in the same spot! You can't skip the cut-scenes, and the "low ammo" message is misleading (you just need to reload). FPS fans who value challenge and realism can bump up the grade by a letter, but I found Rainbow Six Vegas a tough pill to swallow.

Long running fans of the series have likely moved on. While Rainbow Six is still challenging (almost impossible on the realistic difficulty setting in parts), the strategy and realism have taken a hit. The benefit for the game design however is obvious, making it accessible, engrossing and gripping. Vegas is one of the better efforts this year.
