Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six

Finally, there's a reason why Rainbow Six is one of the best games I played. Despite the minor fact that Rainbow Six is very difficult. It is extremely addicting, I found myself playing hour after hour redoing missions. On top of that I put some major time into Multiplayer. Where you can experience Team survival, Two teams Blue Assault and Gold Defense. Play until one man standing or time expires. The Graphics are tight and fairly ever clip or warp. And the Sound FX rock. The game captures you with realistic addicting gameplay, which blows Spec Ops out of the water.

4 billion years after its original release date, R6 has finally come home. Was it worth the wait?

Red Storm comes out of nowhere and releases one of the finest action games ever made.

GO OUT AND BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. DO NOT HESITATE. BREAK OUT THE WALLET, RUN, DRIVE OR TAKE THE BUS TO THE NEAREST GAME DEALER. I'm not kidding when I say this -- Rainbow Six is the most realistic, challenging, and fun game to play that was ever made (in my opinion). I won't try to compare it to Quake, Doom, or Tomb Raider. Why try, when those games look and play like little kiddy games? This is the real deal: this is Hostage Rescue at its finest. So on that note, gentle reader, I have decided to give the game a score of 97/100. And the award for best video game of the year goes to Rainbow Six.

This is simply one of the coolest games ever to grace a monitor screen. The action is intense, the feel is authentic, and the multiplayer is great. Hell, I've already told you this, so just get out there and strike a blow for god, country, and the love of shooting human beings with hollow-point ammo.

With the release of Rainbow Six, Tom Clancy’s latest techno-thriller, comes Rainbow Six, a computer wargame that ostensibly follows the novel’s plot. The game follows a multinational antiterrorist organization called, of course, Rainbow Six. R6 is a secret known only to the highest officials in the member governments. Naturally, they’re the best of the best, though that’s small comfort to beginning players. Expect to press the replay buttons early and often.

'Command, we have a hostage situation - send in Rainbow team.' Those are words that Command would hate to hear most - and which would definitely NOT make someone's day - on the other hand, those words are what brings you Rainbow 6, the all-new first-person 3D shooter for thinking people. What does that mean? For one, that means that you need to plan attacks before you storm in, as one shot takes you out, like in real life - not like those lame rockets in Quake of which you could eat one and still be alive to grab a medikit powerup, recover fully, and fight on. But in any case, this is a bit rushed - so read on for more info.

As a whole, with the Gold Edition containing the strategy guide and the add-on pack, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Gold Pack Edition is a worthy investment, if you’re into this type of game. I highly suggest trying it before you buy it. You may pick it up immediately and love it, but you may find it too obfuscated to be playable. If you get into it, though, it’s truly an enjoyable experience. If only single-player was a little tighter, this would be near-perfect. As it stands, it is merely a good game.

Red Storm Entertainment's Rainbow Six puts you at the forefront of this new international conflict, in a game ripped as much from the headlines as it is from the Tom Clancy novel of the same name. You take the reigns of Rainbow, a multinational unit dedicated to stamping out terrorism around the globe. The name Rainbow Six is actually your personal moniker -- "Rainbow" meaning a coalition of several nations and races; and "Six," the military designation for leader. Though the game is certainly its own beast, and, for the sake of gameplay, liberties were taken with the plot and characters, the connections to the novel can't be denied. John Clark, the book's protagonist, is indeed present in the game, though his role has been reduced to that of commander and advisor; he issues your initial mission briefings and lets you know the "real deal" about the situations you face.

Like Spec Ops (PCZ #65, 88%), Rainbow Six is incredibly addictive. Unlike Spec Ops, however, Rainbow Six is a game that, thanks to its replayability, makes it something you'll keep going back to time and time again. For the dedicated Quake fan who's been longing to apply a bit of strategic thinking, Rainbow Six could well be the game you've been waiting for.

Das hätte wohl niemand erwartet: Heimlich, still und leise veröffentlicht ein bisher quasi unbekanntes Label ohne Vorabpromotion einen absoluten Hit. Rainbow Six hat ein originelles, gut durchdachtes Spielkonzept, einen hohen Grad an Komplexität und ist vor allem extrem spannend. Die etwas antiquiert wirkende Grafik und die KI-Macken der eigenen Truppen stören nur am Anfang; danach nimmt einen die dichte Atmosphäre und die spannende, überraschungsreiche Storyline des Spiels völlig in Beschlag. Rainbow Six bietet für jeden etwas: Der Planungsteil wird Freunde anspruchsvoller Strategiespiele à la Commandos begeistern; der Praxisteil stellt hohe Ansprüche an die Action-Spezialisten. Schade, daß solche Überraschungstreffer nicht häufiger vorkommen.

Freunde actiongeladener Shoot ‘em Ups sollten die Finger von Rainbow Six lassen. Für Strategen ohne Abneigungen gegen 3D-Action ist das Verhältnis der Planungsphase zur Action-Phase von ca. 2:1 oder gar 3:1 geradezu ideal. Rainbow Six bietet alles, was ich von einem anspruchsvollen 3D-Shooter erwarte. Der hohe Realitätsgrad und die wirklichkeitsnahen Missionsziele generieren eine packende Atmosphäre. Wirklich negativ machen sich nur KI und das Routefinding bemerkbar, aber hier soll es in absehbarer Zeit noch einige Updates geben. Im Mehrspieler-Modus fallen diese Mankos nicht mehr ins Gewicht, was den Spielspaß enorm erhöht.

It's streamlined to fit your N64, but this is still a great PC to N64 conversion.

As long as you're not expecting Quake III Arena and are ready for a steep learning curve, Rainbow Six is as deep and challenging as action games get.

Rainbow Six is a good game with an unique and exciting premise. I recommend it to anyone who has the hardware to run it, revels in planning, and enjoys a healthy dose of strategy along with their action. The ability to re-plan and execute individual missions makes for high replay value, although there is no way to record those missions. Although I gave the game some low marks, I was able to overlook its shortcomings for the opportunity to kick some Tango behinds! Due to its complicated nature and violence, the game is not for young children.

Unique en son genre, "Rainbow six" n'en est pas moins excellent. Étant très différent des autres jeux, la sortie de son add-on Rogue Spear n'est pas encore assurée. Si vous êtes un peu lassés des jeux dont vous disposez et cherchez un compromise entre un Doom-like et un jeu de stratégie, "Rainbow six" est le jeu qu'il vous faut.

This genre-blending title brings a lot to the gaming experience. It takes what is good from first-person shooters and turn-based strategy (that sounds like a stretch but it's true) games, mixes it up and spits out something never quite seen before. Clancy also brings mass appeal to Rainbow Six, lending his well-crafted fictional world of political intrigue, secret-ops missions and action.

So if you're the type who just loves to run around and kill everything that moves, you'd best stay away from Rainbow Six. Actually, you could take advantage of the multiplayer capabilities and still run around and kill everything that moves, but there are other games tailored specifically to that purpose. Rainbow Six is aimed at the strategist who likes a little action as well. If you've ever played Myth and wished you could join the fray from the point of view of an archer, then Rainbow Six will not disappoint. Well, except that there are no archers to be controlled. I'm afraid the bow and arrow just don't get much use from government operatives these days.

Wenn Schüsse fallen, man unerwartet in den Lauf einer Waffe blickt oder gar die Teamkameraden getroffen zusammenbrechen, steigert sich die Anspannung mitunter zu schierer Panik. Es ist anfangs gar nicht so einfach, die Ruhe zu bewahren und professionell zu reagieren. In der Tat dürfte Rainbow Six die derzeit beste Simulation taktischer Kampfeinsätze sein.

While generally better than Spec Ops, Rainbow Six carries its own baggage, especially where the conflict of realism versus gameplay rears its ugly head.

Los van de 'doodgewone' graphics en de 'doodgewone' geluiden, moet ik wel eerlijk toegeven dat Rainbow Six me na een paar uurtjes wel degelijk begon te boeien. De gameplay bevat vele niveaus en verrassingen. En dit maakt het spel juist zo boeiend. Toch heeft ook deze medaille een andere kant. De artificiële intelligentie van de andere teamleden laat soms te wensen over.

Depuis le temps qu'il est sorti sur PC, Rainbow Six a peut-être un peu vieilli, mais la recette fonctionne toujours, et les joueurs console seront ravis de pouvoir s'essayer à un nouveau genre de FPS. Si vous adorez les SWAT et que vous vous sentez l'âme d'un fin stratège, foncez !

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six casts a player in the role of commanding officer of an elite, multi-national Counter Revolutionary Warfare group named Rainbow Six. Tom Clancy's touch is seen in the detailed story line and background information about each of the people and groups involved in the plot of the game. All of this rich and detailed background and plot is overwhelmed by the game and most gamers will find themselves simply ignoring the plot in their hurry to get on with the next mission.

If your idea of a good time is blowing things up, Metal Gear Solid or Army Men might be better choices.

Everything has a striking tinge of realism.

Overall, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is an excellent real-time action simulation. There isn't much of a plot, but that isn't what the game is about. The missions make the game an enthralling experience. This title certainly won't appeal to everyone, but for those who want a thinking shooter, give this one a try.

In the end; it really comes down to taste. If planning for 10 minutes if you’re forte, buy this game. If realistic gameplay and one-shot kills are your thing, buy this game. However, if you said no to any of those things, by all means do NOT buy this game.

Mann, was bin ich von Rainbow Six enttäuscht. Was bringt mir der schönste (wenn auch umständlich zu bedienende) Planungspart, wenn die Vorgaben doch überflüssig sind. Spätestens nach vier Einsätzen merken Sie, daß Sie auch ohne echten Plan ans Ziel kommen. Okay, der 3D-Teil macht schon Spaß. Als cooler Special-Forces-Soldat mit dem Gewehr im Anschlag auf Terroristenjagd zu gehen, motiviert mich mehr, als zottelige Monster in einem 08/15-Gewölbe zu erlegen. Außerdem sind die Einsätze ziemlich abwechslungsreich. Am ehesten werden Sie Rainbow Six mögen, wenn Sie die spannende Buchvorlage kennen. Ohne dieses motivierende Ambiente-Plus bleibt nur ein Standard-3D-Shooter übrig.

Att jag förlåter spelet ganska allvarliga brister beror på att jag har svårt att se något annat Game Boy-spel som skulle kunna mäta sig med Rainbow Six ust nu. Visst, rent tekniskt är Gold and Glory: The Road to El Dorado ett bättre spel, men till skillnad från det och de flesta andra nya Game Boy-titlarna bjuder Rainbow Six på riktigt hårdkokt spänning. Inte för att jag är något actionfreak, men ibland är det skönt att kunna fly från den Disney-värld som bara tar upp mer och mer plats i de nya Game Boy-spelen.

It has it's et niche, but even they must be disappointed. It's close to being what it set out to be but it just isn't there yet. Tom Clancy is happy, but he's getting paid. My suggestion is to keep writing books and squeezing out movies like Patriot Games: that's where his talents lie. Play it if you must, but if you really need to, it's probably better to do it on the PC because the PlayStation version just isn't there.

Still, the game is enjoyable. The missions can be skin-crawly tense and the strategic planning is a joy. Nevertheless, poor AI, coupled with mundane and buggy graphics give the game a "late-beta" feel. The genre bending idea is good, but the all too typical entertainment industry execution is �well, less than good.

Rainbow Six ne propose rien de plus que la version PC qui l'avait précédé de presque trois ans. Graphismes identiques, missions identiques, options identiques, décidément la nouveauté n'était pas une priorité pour cette adaptation sur Dreamcast. De plus, les manques sont plus que nombreux et l'incompatibilité du clavier et de la souris est inadmissible. La manette se retrouve donc surchargée de commandes, rendant le jeu à la limite du jouable. Seuls les acharnés de l'action tactique n'ayant pas de PC y trouveront leur compte grâce à la richesse et à la complexité de ce titre. En plus, vu le retard accumulé par le jeu, on était en droit de s'attendre à autre chose, une adaptation de Rainbow Six : Rogue Spear par exemple.

The Game Boy Color version of the PC game is finally here. It's time to move on.

What originally was intended for the PC has come to the PlayStation - with mixed results.

Du travail de sagouin pour cette adaptation qui insulte la version originale mais surtout les possesseurs de console. Sous tous ses aspects, Rainbow Six n'offre aucun élément positif et manque cruellement de tout. Une honte m'sieur Redstorm.
