"Top Spin" sai altamente recomendado como um dos melhores jogos de tênis para PC. A única contra-indicação fica para aqueles que preferem um jogo bem "arcade", já que a simulação é bastante realista e exige certa dedicação para ser dominada.

Simply put, Top Spin is the best overall tennis game out there. While Virtua Tennis and even Mario Tennis are great games, Top Spin's added depth, online play, and beautiful graphics make it the tennis game to have, no questions asked.

Ever since Sega brought tennis to the video gaming masses with Virtua Tennis, there have been many imitators, but none have been able to match the quality of that game--until now. Power and Magic Developments, a European development house whose previous experience lies mainly in soccer games, has teamed up with Microsoft to create Top Spin. Top Spin is, quite simply, the most well-rounded, feature-rich game of tennis to be found anywhere, on any system. Virtua Tennis players who have been clutching their Dreamcasts for the past few years can now safely let go, as a suitable replacement has finally arrived.

I've seen a lot of criticism, apparently not entirely undeserved, of Microsoft's sport outings, with reviewers and forum-addicted gamers noting that the company's relatively young franchises can't compare to the more mature offerings from EA and Sega. Don't let those sorts of comments taint your perception of Top Spin, though; this is one game that Microsoft nailed on its first try, and I hope this is just the first in a long, long series. Top Spin is unbelievably fun, and its variety of online and offline options should keep this game spinning in the consoles of many XBox owners for quite some time to come. Highly Recommended.

Top Spin is a terrific game. The eye candy is wonderful and the physical dynamics are, for the most part, very realistic and - at times - downright amazing. The game is evolving and presents a solid challenge for players of any age group or skill. Add an addiction quotient to the entertaining gameplay and this game certainly is a must-have for Xbox owners who also happen to be tennis fans.

Virtua Tennis put tennis games on the map. Between the glorious control and the phenomenal four-player doubles, it counts as one of the best multiplayer games ever whether you’re a sports fan or not. So after the Dreamcast faded into the sunset, there was a yawning chasm waiting to be filled, and Top Spin is the most promising, potential-packed replacement to volunteer for the job. Mostly it succeeds, mixing cool innovations with unfortunate missteps.

Sega's Virtua Tennis (VT) set a new standard for arcade-tennis games with its simple controls, addictive gameplay, and strong graphics. It was a fun single-player game and an even better multiplayer game which up to four people could enjoy. Now, Microsoft's foray into video-game tennis does everything VT did, but a whole lot better. Like an upstart youngster on the pro tour, Top Spin has taken the genre by storm and established a new number-one game. It offers an amazing single-player experience and an awesome multiplayer one, especially for Xbox Live subscribers.

Top Spin on the Xbox was something of a revelation; much more in depth than SEGA’s Virtua Tennis with more shots, a complex but exciting career mode and online play. The graphics were as sweet as a nut, a cool “In The Zone” meter kept the mentalities of the players swinging about by offering ways back into matches and crowds booed and cheered. So what’s new for players owning a PS2?

This is pretty much the exact same game that was released for the Xbox under the late, but not particularly lamented, XSN Sports acquired Top Spin, PS2 players can now experience what I still feel is the best tennis sim on the market. Not much has been lost in the translation (EyeToy support for character creation has been added), but the graphics have taken a considerable hit in the porting process. Also, load times seem to be worse. However, the fluid control and excellent career and online modes are still in, making this a great purchase for any PS2 tennis fan.

Wenig Sportspiele spornen mich in Duellen gegen meinen Lieblingsgegner Michael Graf so an.

It seems that 2K Sports has managed to crank out some spectacular sports titles this year with their stellar NBA 2K6 game and the magnificence that is NHL 2K6. Joining their ranks is Top Spin; a game released awhile back on the Xbox and now finds it lighting up the PS2. While the Xbox game was gorgeous to look at and played decently enough, the new PS2 version is simply a game tennis fans will not want to put down.

Top Spin tennis is yet another superb Live enabled game. The career mode is engaging and the player creator alone is a lot of fun. Tennis games clearly don't appeal to everyone, but this is a truly great simulation of the sport and a wonderful multiplayer game with on one console or taken online.

In any language, Top Spin is a winner. Its small flaws are outmatched by its solid gameplay, excellent graphics and nice online support. It’s also as close as you’ll get to Anna without worrying about that pesky restraining order, and that’s gotta count for something.

PlayStation 2Next Level Gaming
Top Spin might be a stop gap for 2K Sports while it finishes up Top Spin 2 for the Xbox 360. Or it could simply be a way to expand the brand name to a new audience. And for what it is, a port, it does the job for Playstation 2 Tennis fans. It's definately the best PS2 Tennis game out there. But if you already own the Xbox game there's really no reason to switch. Still, just as solid a game as I remember it to be, and it's worthy of a look for PS2 owners.

Clairement un must.

Top Spin is a great game which is accessible for any gamer. The XSN delivers again with another great sports title to add to the list. Although the game could use some minor tweaks, it’s predominately the best tennis game on the market. If you enjoy tennis, you probably already have Top Spin. There is no reason why you should overlook this title.

Seriously, this is a great tennis sim. It's certainly less fun than Virtua Tennis (especially the career mode) and it's damn frustrating at times, but it's still the best representation of strawberries and cream we've ever seen. If you still haven't played Virtua Tennis and aren't much of a tennis fan, then the PS2 Virtua Tennis is probably the title for you - especially as it's cheaper - but if you've been waiting for a title to really capture the essence of the sport, then this is it. We've even given it the respect of not making a pun to finish with. In short: ace!

Nearly two years ago, Microsoft released the critically acclaimed Top Spin as part of its XSN online sports lineup. The tennis title was often compared to Sega's Virtua Tennis for multiple reasons, one of them being its tight, responsive, easy to learn, and most importantly, fun gameplay. While the Dreamcast's Virtua Tennis still retains the title of Best Tennis Game Ever around the IGN offices, it's no doubt that Top Spin is still the best tennis game the Xbox has seen thus far.

Deja-vu is always an unsettling experience, but even more so when you’ve just shelled out for a “new” game. While it’s obviously too much to ask that every game is a totally new experience, repackaging old stuff and pushing it out years later just can’t be right. Yet that’s exactly what’s been done here.

Tennis fans looking for a rousing game of tennis on the go should come away relatively satisfied with Top Spin 2 for the Game Boy Advance. It may not offer all of the ridiculous court settings, minigames, or story twists that Mario Tennis: Power Tour does, but what it does offer is an authentic and deep portrayal of the sport, a decent selection of play modes, and a good assortment of real-life players.

PlayStation 2GameSpot
When it originally appeared on the Xbox in late 2003, Top Spin was a bit of a revelation. Sure, at its core Top Spin was basically just a Virtua Tennis knockoff, but it was a good Virtua Tennis knockoff. It was also the first tennis game to appear on the Xbox, as well as the first console tennis game to feature online play. After two years and a change of management, Top Spin has arrived on the PlayStation 2. The gameplay still pops, and the career mode still has plenty to offer, but it's just not as exciting. The amount of solid competition on the PS2 has something to do with it, but mostly this just feels like a half-hearted translation.

Tennis games are a funny bunch, the simplicity and gameplay is always of a high standard and yet they never really get a look in when it comes to landing on gamers' shelves. Worst still Virtua Tennis set such high standards when it was originally launched on the Dreamcast that bringing out an alternative version is like remaking a classic movie. Yes some will love the changes and the fact that it is virtually identical to Sega's masterpiece even down to the customising of characters in the career mode. To others though, it will be outrage.

Top Spin PS2 has come across quite well but really, if you have both consoles, then the Xbox version is the better bet. Overall it’s better, has a better online structure and is in the bargain bin price range by now. The updates to the PS2 version are only minimal. However, if you only have a PS2 and are hankering for tennis action then you won't find much better than this.

PlayStation 2Digital Entertainment News (den)
When we last saw Top Spin, the title was Microsoft’s first and only tennis game on the Xbox, and was highly praised as one of a select few titles that could come close to the genre’s king, Sega’s Virtua Tennis series. The game looked sharp, played sharp, and had Anna Kournikova as a cover girl. Not too shabby.

XboxXBox Evolved
If anything saves Top Spin, it is the online play – only there does the game offer any lasting enjoyment. Still, the control and organization problems make Top Spin much less of a game than it could have (and should have) been. Tennis is already a niche sport, so most gamers will likely ignore Top Spin. However, buying it isn’t necessarily a bad choice, since even with its problems those who enjoy the sport may find some value in it simply for the online play. It isn’t worth the full price, though.

PlayStation 2Game Chronicles
Tennis games seem to share the same niche popularity as soccer games, which means they are often very hard to find in stores, but those who really want them can usually get their hands on a copy. Back in the glory days of the Xbox there was a little game called Top Spin that gave gamers a pretty good taste of the sport. Now, 23 months to the day, the PS2 finally gets around to seeing a port of this title, just about the same time the new Top Spin sequel is about to hit the Xbox 360.

Once you’ve become the best and are sleeping with supermodels (again, my own imaginative license) you can only fall, not rise. You slowly go the way of Andre Agassi: You start to lose your hair, you shun Brooke Shields and eventually settle down with a top 50 rating and Stephi Graf. Would I buy this game again? Sure—it was five bucks used.

The GBA is no stranger to tennis titles. The system's seen amazing conversions of such titles as Mario Tennis just recently, as well as classic GBA Gems like SEGA's own Virtua Tennis. Fans of the court can once again dive into the age-old art of tennis on GBA, as 2K Games' Top Spin 2 has hit store shelves. We recently reviewed the DS version, which proved to have solid gameplay that was horrendously downplayed due to terrible frame rate and, dare we say it again, load times. While the GBA version of Top Spin 2 is a far better choice, the gameplay again has some minor flaws, making this trip to the courts frustrating at times, though still relatively entertaining. It may not be the best tennis title on the system, but Top Spin 2 manages to trump its DS big brother in the gameplay category; something that GBA fans can be proud of.

PlayStation 2Pro-G
Top spin on the PlayStation 2 is a perfectly playable tennis game, but it has lost much of the sheen that gave the Xbox game that something extra. If you must play tennis online on your PlayStation 2, Top spin is your best option, but Virtua Tennis might be a better choice for everyone else.

PlayStation 2GameSpy
Top Spin has just about the deepest gameplay you'll find in the sport. Every face button executes a different shot. The addition of risk shots/serves and spin control add an exciting element to play -- but you have to stop the cursor in the right place to reap the rewards. This depth is a bit of a double-edged sword, however, as it keeps Top Spin from being as accessible as Virtua Tennis -- or Sega Sports Tennis as it was known in its one PS2 release.

PlayStation 2G4 TV: X-Play
Forrest Gump may disagree, but a video game port is also like a box of chocolates--you never quite know what you are going to get. Two years ago, which is an eon in the game industry, Top Spin was released on Xbox to critical acclaim. It featured professional players, including the lovely but questionably skilled Anna Kournikova, a career mode, online play, and more importantly, intuitive controls. One would expect the subsequent PlayStation 2 port to feature adequate graphics, more professionals, and improved options. Alas, Top Spin on the PlayStation 2 is like a raspberry cream when you’re expecting to bite into a luscious caramel; it’s an unwelcome surprise with an aftertaste that sticks with you for hours.
